A Yesterday's Elegy

In sorrow's tempest I stand,
tears stream down my face,
An elegy for yesterdays lost,
for memories now a haze.
The sun sets on the horizon,
painting hues of golden red,
But darkness conquers my weary heart,
a heaviness like lead.

Oh, how the silence echoes,
a void deep within my soul,
Where laughter once resided,
now bitter echoes unfold.
Gone is the warmth of your presence,
the touch of your embrace,
The world feels bleak and empty,
a barren, desolate space.

I trace the steps we once walked,
down the cherished lane,
But all that remains are whispers,
carried by the wind's refrain.
The flowers bloom,
oblivious to my sorrowful lament,
And the birds sing their melodies,
a cruel and taunting torment.

Time marches forward,
yet my heart remains stuck in the past,
Eternally weaved in memories,
a tapestry that won't last.
Grief cascades like a waterfall,
washing over my shattered soul,
A constant reminder of the emptiness
that engulfs and takes its toll.

Oh, how I long for one more moment,
to hold you close once more,
To hear your voice, to feel your love,
like waves crashing on the shore.
But alas, you have departed,
leaving me stranded in this abyss,
The loss of you, my dearest one,
a burden I cannot dismiss.

Yet even in my profound sorrow,
a flicker of hope survives,
In the memories we shared,
the love that forever thrives.
Though you have left this mortal realm,
your spirit lingers on,
A guiding light in my darkest days,
until our eternal reunion dawns.

So, in this elegy I mourn,
for the loss that I endure,
But through the pain and tears, your love remains pure.
In every thought, in every breath,
you will forever reside,
Embracing me with grace and love,
as our souls forever coincide.
