«5 hours before»

10 am

we all waited in the meeting room for voldemort to appear. he'd called a mandatory meeting that no one knew about. not even matheo.
cyrus and destiny were still away on there honeymoon and were coming back tomorrow.
my leg bounced nervously until i felt a hand on my thigh i looked down and saw matheo rubbing my leg
"we'll be fine" he whispered kissing the top of my head
i gave him a smile and the door swung open
"we need to prepare for war today" voldemort yelled walking to sit on his chair
gasps filled the room
"SILENCE! it's been said the harry potter is at hogwarts. we will be at the castle by 11:30 and we will attack. bellatrix, matheo, regulus, lucius,
narcissa and Rudolph you will stay with me in forbidden forest. everyone else will attack the castle, draco, theo, nia you three will go with scabiour and the snatchers to the bridge; xavier, pansy, enzo and stella will go into the school with snape and go undercover; astoria, gabe, blaise,
nova and lyra will go with the first group of death eaters once we break into the castle. is that clear?"
"are you sure i should stay with you? surely my skills are more beneficial fighting"
"no, potter will come to the forest and i need you with me"
"fine" matheo said through gritted teeth
"children your dismissed everyone else stay."
we all got up and left and went to the kitchen
"so what we just wait around here until it's time to fight" lyra grumbled
matheo stood behind her rubbing her back
"just get ready into something comfy. this will all be over soon." he comforted
me and the girls changed into some leggings and a jumper. i put my hair into a ponytail and went to matheos room.
"you ready?" i asked walking over to matheo
"yeah" he replied but i could tell something was wrong he seemed tense
"hey, we'll be ok" i assured him wrapping my hands around his neck
"what would i do without you?" he smiled looking down at me and kissing my forehead
"good thing you'll never have to know"
"i love you lyra."
my stomach had butterflies. it shocked me he'd said that to me but i was so happy i couldn't contain it
"i love you matheo" i kissed him until gabe knocked at the door
"yo lovebirds we gotta go"

«an hour later»
me gabe astoria nova and blaise stood outside the castle waiting for the shield to break. we all held up our wands attempting to break the barrier, and it collapsed.
we reached the castle and started shooting spells
"confundus" i was thrown into the wall behind me, gabe rushed to my side and helped me up
"you good?"
"yeah" i said rubbing my head

it had been an hour of casting and blocking spells, gabe and astoria had gone to the astronomy tower; blaise went to the infirmary after we saw his mum on the floor passed out. it was just me and nova running around the school
we turned a corner and Seamus and dean were there. spells were casted back and forth, nova jinxed dean back i turned to smile at her. a flash of green lit up the area and i head dean shout a spell
no.
nova hit the floor, i instantly dropped next to her
"stupefy!" i yelled at the two knocking them unconscious
"nova?!" no response
"nova?! wake up. please nova"
nova layed there on the stone floor unresponsive.
i screamed and cried holding her body
"help! someone!" i yelled hoping one of my friends would come and tell me it was a joke
"wingardium leviousa" i lifted her body and went to a clear space outside the castle
"lyra? is that you?"
"enzo! help please" i cried into his arms he looked at nova and held me tighter, my knees buckled and he helped me to the floor
"it was d-dean i-i couldn't hel-p her"
"shhh it's ok"
i looked up at him and saw his face was full of  sadness looking at my sisters body
"oh my god xavier can't see her like this. they were supposed to get married" i panicked standing up and i started to pace
"lyra don't worry about that right now" enzo said trying to keep me still
out of the corner of my eye i saw astoria, gabe, pansy and blaise all coming over to us
enzo walked over to them and they all walked fast
over to me
pansy immediately pulled me into a hug letting my cry into her shoulder, astoria knelt by novas body brushing the hair out of her face and shutting her eyes, gabe and blaise stood there shocked
"what- are- how-" gabe said tounge tied
"it was dean. it's all my fault i let my guard
down for a second to smile at her and he-
he killed her" my sobs became louder and blaise ran to me and held me rubbing my back
"what's wrong guys?" xavier asked walking over to us
"x-xavier she's gone" i whispered
"no" he walked to her body and held her shaking her
"im so sorry i-i couldn't save her" i said walking over to him and keeling down to him
we both sat there crying all i could think about was how my brothers would react
draco and stella came over with theo and nia and enzo told them what happened. theo hugged me and stella cried with pansy. draco stood there shocked  as astoria went over to comfort him
"where's matheo?" i asked enzo tearing my eyes away from nova
"he's still with reg in the forest but they'll be back soon once harry's dead"

30 minutes went by and students were celebrating at voldemort's death but i couldn't leave nova. matheo and reg still hadn't came to us. pans, tori, stella, draco and theo went inside to get cleaned.
xavier and i still sat there with her and the boys stayed stood around us creating a shield from the outside world
"what happened?" reg asked walking towards us with matheo next to him
i got up and ran over to reg hugging him
"i-it's nova she's dead" i cried
reg held onto me and then let go, he walked around me and went to nova.
he stood there and stayed silent
"oh lyra" matheo whispered pulling me into a hug "im so so sorry my love, you don't deserve this" he whispered into my hair as i sobbed into his chest getting louder with each word
"let's get you out of here" he said pulling back and holding my face in his hands wiping my tears
"i can't leave her" i shook my head
"we'll bring her back to the manor you can all stay with us" he advised
i nodded and we all went to the riddle manor, matheo sent an elf to get a casket for novas body and 30 minutes later we placed her into a black wooden casket. we left it in one of the spare rooms not wanting to burry her.
"oh god cyrus and destiny, they get back tomorrow morning." i said pacing matheos room.
he stood and watched leant against the window trying to calm me down
"lyra. lyra look at me and stop walking." i stopped and looked at him
"stop worrying about you brothers and just breath. let me help you"
"its all my fault, i looked back to smile at her and then dean he he killed her. i shouldn't of looked back. if i hadn't i could've disarmed him she could still be here" i cried as he walked towards me hugging me and carrying me to the bed
"it's not your fault. you couldn't have known. it's not you fault i promise"

i woke up and it was 4 am. i went downstairs to the living room and sat there. numb.

the front door swung open "we're back!" cyrus yelled
"hey lyra how've you been?" destiny asked a smile radiating off of her face
her face dropped when she saw the tear marks on my face
"lyra what happened?" she asked more urgently
cyrus walked in and i felt sick
"n-nova she she was she is d-dead" i said tears spilling over my eyes
"no" cyrus yelled blinking his eyes shut
"im so so sorry" destiny said hugging cyrus and kissing his cheek
"lyra what are you doing down here it's only 8" matheo said with just his joggers on coming down the stairs
"i couldn't sleep"
matheo took one look at the even happening before him and hugged me. cyrus then hugged me we cried together. and then reg came down and the three of us spent the day reminiscing, crying, laughing and talking.
but it wasn't right
