Klaus blinked a couple of times, not sure how to react. It wasn't unexpected that she would have tried to escape the medbay, but that didn't excuse how horribly the situation could have gone.

"Uh... okay..." the medic stammered, not sure how he was supposed to react to her defiant comment, "well, my name is Dr. Exaulta, but really I just prefer that you call me Klaus."

Gianna seemed just as confused. This medic was clearly experienced, appearing in his forties, yet seemed to follow trends from earth that would be considered youthful, with a lip and nose piercing, and his longer, pulled back, platinum blonde hair ombred to red.

"Doctors on earth typically don't go by their first name," Gianna mentioned, admiring the gesture. It wasn't every day that you met someone who didn't wear the title like a badge of honor.

"Well, we're not on earth are we?" Klaus said, immediately recognizing his mistake when he saw Gianna tense. Clearly, she had not been informed about her situation.

"So it's true... were in spaa..." Gianna started as her breath picking up, the idea of being long gone from the planet she once called home finally setting in, along with the panic, "we're not... on earth."

Alrox reached over, awkwardly patting Gianna on the shoulder in an attempt to be comforting, only making the situation more tense.

"hey, hey," Klaus started, "this is normal, we're safe."

Gianna seemed to ignore the doctor, turning to Alrox.

"We can't get back," she said.

"I--- I know..." Alrox responded, frowning. Gianna soon found the floor very interesting, her eyes falling immediately.

"We already gave up everything by running away anyway..." she mumbled, eyes still trained on the floor, and hope leaving her voice.

"You'll have new opportunities here. I promise," Klaus said, and Gianna gave a small nod. If she was honest, she was still skeptical. It was still possible that this was a very well played deception. Gianna looked back up at the doctor, swallowing her fear.

"So uh, what are you here for, doc?" Gianna said. Klaus paused for a moment before continuing, she was clearly experienced in some form of acting to be able to transition from her previous state to this one. The best option now would be to play along.

"Well, you have a few broken ribs and a grade four concussion, so I came to check on your healing process and take a few vitals," Klaus responded, "it'll be like a normal checkup appointment."

"Okay," Gianna said quietly.

"Just let me know if anything hurts," Klaus said, removing the stethoscope from his neck and putting it on. Gianna soon shuddered slightly at the cold metal of the stethoscope as it was placed over her heart. No matter how many times she had been to the doctor, it had always surprised her.

"Breathe in," Klaus asked, and Gianna took a deep breath, letting it out at Klaus's request as well. The stethoscope was then placed on her back.

"You can breathe normally now," Klaus said.

"well I can't now that you've told me to," Gianna responded, dead serious. Klaus chuckled, still moving the stethoscope, before stepping back.

"Your heart rate is a little fast, but that's expected," Klaus said, he had gotten used to brave faces, and was able to see through them most of the time. This was no exception. In fact, Klaus could tell that Gianna was constantly paying attention to her surroundings, ready if he were to strike. Gianna didn't trust the resistance, she was still afraid. Thalia certainly hadn't helped with that either.
