"Dad, it was unexpected. We were caught up in a tribal tradition during our way back home. We had no control over it." Arjun said the same thing for the 10th time , sighing, they told them everything but their needle is still stuck on the fact that they didn't informed them everything immediately after getting back
" You brat , keep your mouth shut before I help you with it " noor's father said glaring at him
" Dad try to understand we really didn't had any way out of it , Arjun even got injured in order to stop them but at the end we had no choice " noor said giving side eye to Arjun who gulp visibly , he know he fucked up
"This is not just about us understanding, Noor. It's about trust, about the traditions that bind our family. We had expectations for your future." Her mother said looking worried , what'll people say about it , they will not care about circumstances and will talk rubbish about their children
" she is right our family has a reputation to uphold, and your actions have consequences, God what'll we do now" his mother said holding her head
" Mom we're eventually going to get married so why are we streching it so much" Arjun said in frustration, he's getting annoyed with them for thinking about society than their children
" You were eventually going to die one day than why don't I do the honour" her father sneered looking at him with I'm so done with you expression
" Dad" Noor look at him in disbelief
" What?!! Didn't you saw how he talked just now" her dad said
" I can't believe you just cursed me " Arjun said narrowing his eyes
" And I can't believe you like YOU got married to my daughter " her father sneered
" Unfortunately you can't do anything about it now " he smirked looking proud
" Can't we make them get Divorce " her father said irritatedly looking at them
" Dad" noor whined
" Why can't you see how he's behaving with your one and only father " her father whined looking at her like she wronged him making her sigh
" So what should we do now?" Her mother said
" What can we do , even if we accept their marriage cause they're already engaged, what will we do about them " his mother said looking at mayank and tannu , they look at each other before looking down
"If it has come to this, then we must take decisive action. Arjun, we'll need to rectify this situation legally. For now let's have a formal wedding and then pursue legal action against the tribe for their actions." Arjun's father said,who was calm till now,looking at them
"A formal wedding? To rectify a tribal ceremony? It's unconventional, but if it ensures our family's honor, we'll support you." Noor's mother said looking at her husband who also nodded liking the idea
"Having a proper ceremony and then pursuing legal recourse seems to be the best course of action." Arjun's mother said looking somewhat relived
"Legal action against a tribe is a complex matter. We'll need to consult with legal experts to understand the implications and strategies." Noor's father said looking at Arjun's father
"I've already spoken to a lawyer. We'll be filing a lawsuit against the tribe for their interference and the consequences it has had on us." Arjun said feeling delighted that everything's going in a positive way now
" That you remembered to do properly " her father taunted him making him force a smile at him
"This is unprecedented. Our family name is at stake, and we cannot let the actions of a tribe tarnish it." His mother said looking at her son
"Our intention is to protect the family's honor and ensure such incidents don't happen again." He said looking at his mother assuring her with a small smile
" Alright then" she said smiling sweetly
"We need to approach this strategically. A formal wedding will require meticulous planning to restore the sanctity of our family's traditions." His father said thinking deeply
"I've already contacted a renowned wedding planner to ensure the ceremony reflects our family's status and values." Arjun said happily, he cleared his throat when he noticed everyone's looking at him
" Now are you for real man " mayank said looking at him in disbelief and shock
" What?? I knew it would happen" he said shrugging his shoulders shamelessly
" Now look at this shameless brat" noor's father said looking at her who's still surprised
"We want the wedding to be a symbol of unity and understanding, not just a legal formality. It's important to approach this with sensitivity." His mother said looking at noor's mother ignoring them
"True, We need to balance asserting our family's values with fostering a diplomatic resolution. It's a delicate situation." Her mother said nodding her head
"Diplomacy is crucial. We don't want to exacerbate tensions. Let's try to resolve this without unnecessary conflict." His father said
"In the pursuit of justice, let's not forget the importance of reconciliation. A peaceful resolution benefits both parties in the long run." Her father agreed with him
" So it's settled that they are getting married let's discuss the date " his mother said excitedly
" Umm how about next week " Arjun said raising his eyebrows suggestively
" Aren't you getting too impatient" her father said narrowing his eyes
"What's point of delay " he said smirking
" He's right, let's aim for next week. It gives us enough time to make the necessary arrangements without unnecessary delays." His father said making him grine happily
"A Saturday might be ideal. It allows for more guests to attend without disrupting their work schedules." Her mother suggested
" Yeah that's great idea" his mother said smiling happily
" So it's settled then wedding will be on Sunday next week, start preparing for it " his father said standing up from couch and look at mayank
" You follow me, we need to discuss something " he said looking at mayank who nodded getting up from his seat followed by Arjun , his father raised his eyebrows at him
" What? I'm also coming with you guys , i need to know what you'll discuss " he said shrugging his shoulders
