The next day dawned with the soft glow of morning seeping through the curtains of Caroline's bedroom. The lingering laughter and shared secrets of the night before had given way to the quiet stillness of a new day. However, the calmness was abruptly shattered by the intrusive melody of a ringing phone. Elena's cell phone pierced through the peaceful atmosphere, jolting the group of girls from their slumber. Caroline, unapologetically irritated, wasted no time in taking action.

"Go away!" Caroline exclaimed, promptly pushing Elena out of the bed. With a less-than-graceful landing, Elena found herself on the floor, shooting an annoyed glance back up at Caroline. But nevertheless, she crawled across the floor towards her phone, perched on the dresser like an unwelcome morning alarm.
"Hello?" Elena reluctantly spoke into the phone answering the persistent ring.

The annoyed trio—Caroline, Aurora, and Bonnie—looked on from Caroline's bed, their expressions a collective display of morning grumpiness.
"Shhh,"Bonnie hushed Elena with a quiet murmur while Aurora groaned and covered her head with a pillow in an attempt to block out the noise.
"Elena!" Caroline called out, unable to tolerate the disturbance any longer.

Acknowledging the need for privacy, Elena dragged herself out of Caroline's room, leaving the trio of sleepy girls to continue their morning ritual of grumbling and seeking refuge under the covers.

After forcing herself out of bed at the Forbes household, Caroline and Bonnie headed for the Grill and Elena headed to the Gilbert's lake house for a romantic getaway with Stefan leaving Aurora alone in the Gilbert household. The girl decided to take this time to do more research on her mothers side of her family, but this time in the living room. As she was looking through her ancestors stuff Simone approached her once again.

"So, I guess I owe you an explanation." Simone began referring to her telling Jules about Aurora being a werewolf.
"You think?" Aurora responded dryly.
"Listen, I'm sorry I kept it from you. I thought that maybe Jules knew something about your dad's werewolf heritage. That way, you'd know more about your dad's side of the family." Simone sighed, attempting to convey her sincerity.

"Why do you care?" Aurora questioned.
"Because I know you... and I know you want to know the truth, good or bad." Simone answered honestly, momentarily taken aback.
"I'm scared, Simone. I can feel the power in my veins, and I have no idea how to control it. What if I hurt someone?" Aurora revealed her fears, burdened by the weight of her supernatural lineage.
"You won't, I promise." Simone offered her reassurance.

As the two women sat on the couch, the doorbell rang, interrupting their intense conversation. Aurora, curious yet cautious, answered the door to find Elijah standing on the other side. Surprise widened her eyes.

"Elijah, what are you doing here?" Aurora inquired, taken aback by his unexpected presence.
"I wanted to apologize for disappearing after the night you turned." Elijah expressed his remorse feeling guilty for not helping the girl more.
"It's okay, I understand. You don't have to apologize -" Aurora responded momentarily confused.
"Yes, I do. Do you have time to go for a walk?" Elijah cut her off, insisting. Aurora glanced back at Simone, whose expression mirrored her confusion. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Aurora nodded and grabbed her jacket that hung nearby the door and stepped outside, shutting the door behind her.
