(Connors POV ) HA !Bet you weren't expecting that!
I walked through the forest with the tiny kid holding my hand. I have no idea how she survived on her own but I have to take her back to base for inspection. If she's alive and free then maybe they're are others like her. I stopped and let go of the hand before reaching for a cable hanging from the trees like a vine.
"Hold on tightly. Understood?" She nodded and grabbed me tightly. I wondered what was going through this kid's head as I pulled on the cable and we were swung towards my home. Maybe she was thinking about thr sister she kept repeating or maybe she was wondering who I was.
I shook myself out of my thoughts and got ready to let go. It was simply a defense mechanism but it is dangerous enough that if you won't let go at a certain point you will get killed.
We dropped to the air and I hear something like a squeal coming near me. Oh, it was the kid. 'Get it together Connor' I thought. 'We can't allow to be distracted'. I picked her up and tried to murmur words of comfort as I went onto he large trek to make it there.
Soon, we will fight back.
Soon we will be free
We are humanity, and we don't give up.
