She's falling in love with a statue! You heard that right, a life-sized stone!!

Of course, it wasn't like that at first, but that's how it turned out for Myoui Mina and the statue in the garden of her grandmother's mansion that was inherited to her.

Mina wasn't really a big fan of big, vintage, ancestral mansions located in the quiet countryside. Honestly, she'd prefer the opposite, which were modern luxurious apartments located in the hottest capital of the country with busy streets and are near malls or places that were Instagrammable.

But she had to give that all up since when her sweet grandmother died, she inherited her lovely home to her precious granddaughter and wanted her to take good care of it so Mina brought herself to grant her grandmother's last wish because she loved her so much.

But there was more than just inheriting it, and only Mina herself should know. She only had one clue from her grandmother's letter when she first moved in the mansion, there was something meant for her in the lovely garden, and whatever happens as long as she lives there, she must not tell a soul.

Luckily, she was used to living alone and actually wanted it that way. There were just some housekeepers and gardeners coming twice a week to maintain the place and then, she has the place all to herself again but the only difference is, the place was too big for her to live alone there.

In the first days, it all seemed normal, and even in the night, Mina wasn't scared being all alone there. She kept her grandmother's words in mind, but nothing any supernatural scared or occured in her mind because she didn't believe in such things in the first place.

But as days went by, it was pretty boring for her even if she had her video games and all other digital entertainment available, especially on weekends when she has no work.

One time, she got fed up and went to the garden. If whatever's meant for her there won't come to her, she'll go to it instead. The garden was the least place she went to, even when she was young every time her family would visit her grandmother. She just really just didn't find herself showing interest in nature or such.

Since then, she made it a habit to go to the garden at least half an hour every day, and she learned how to appreciate the beauty of the place, and she found peace there.

Still, she wondered what was specifically meant for her there because there was nothing out of the ordinary other than the beauty. The garden was quite wide until one day Mina reached the far corners of the garden.

There, she saw a statue of a young girl and in a strange looking pose. As if it wasn't supposed to be there or be a statue at all, like it just suddenly froze there and turned into stone. Mina found it weird why her grandmother would have this strange statue in the most corner parts of her garden.

She thought there's actually still plenty of things that she didn't know about her grandmother now that she's been staying here for a while now. In reality, it's more than she could ever think of.

Suddenly, she started to hear soft whispers all around, saying, "Hey, over here! can you hear me??"

She looked everywhere where the voice was coming and positioned herself in self-defense. She did learn martial arts until high school. "Who are you?? Better show up now, or I'll beat you up! You're trespassing!!"

"And that's why I'm like this." the voice answered. Mina kept looking anywhere until she realised it must be the statue.

She went closer towards it, "I-is that you, speaking?"

"Yes..."

Mina stepped back, surprised, but somehow not scared. "How did you end up like this and... exactly at this spot?"
