Avengers Parallel

Ch. 30

                                               Cameron POV 

I am laying in bed the lighting lit up the sky as the thunder cracked, Nights like this reminds me of before I met dad, When my parents would lock me in the basement or in the freezer, I would scream for help until my throat was raw, 

I would claw at the inside of the Freezer until my nails bled, I would bang my fists at the lid until my knuckles bled, Most of the time I can block it out, But I can't when it storms like this, 

My nightlight globe with stars on the ceiling keeps me from freaking out, from having panic attacks, Commander Steve was against it, but Tony gave in saying let the kid have it, I am hugging my pillow close to me,  I try not to show this side of me, I try to show my nerves of steel like Dad and the avengers taught me but not tonight. 

I take a deep breath, 

"It's just a storm.." I mumble 

Suddenly the thunder cracks, and the electric turns off and that causes me to shook off the bed still clutching the pillow.

I slowly walk out of the room, Looking around my breath shallow I am walking down the hallway feeling like I'm gonna have a panic attack. 

When I feel someone put their hand on my shoulder, By instinct I spin around and punch whoever in the stomach and I hear them Hit the wall and go through something hearing something crumble 

Suddenly a light is flashed towards me and I see Commander Steve, 

"Cameron?" He says

Then he flashes it down the hall to see Bucky standing up, the wall in front of him was crumbled and broken, I am still squeezing my pillow,

I hear footsteps behind me, 

"The power is out but the back up generator should kick in soo-" I hear Tony but he stops mid sentence 

"What the hell happened?" He asked 

"That's what I'm trying to figure out." Commander Steve says 

Bucky walks towards us, 

"I think we may have a bit of a problem." He says everyone looks at each other, 

The power finally came on, and I am now sitting on a metal table as Evil Tony draws my blood. 

"Are you sure you didn't trip?" Tony asks

"Though a wall." Bucky says 

"It could happen." Tony says 

"No it couldn't," Bucky says 

"It doesn't make sense, she's never had powers." Commander Steve says 

"I still don't." I say 

"I'm human, no strength here." I say in a tired tone

"We'll have to see about that." Bucky says rubbing his head, 

Tony puts the tube of blood in the machine and everyone waits, 

"Cameron why don't you go back to bed we'll take care of this." Commander Steve says 

I don't know what came over me, maybe it was the fear of the lights going out or maybe it's because I am only a kid and get scared sometimes, 

I gave him my puppy dog eyes, 

"Well you go with me?" I asked him

This made everyone freeze  It wasn't normally my behavior it's true since sending my read dad and avengers away and preventing me from. escaping I've been very hostile but lately I can't explain this change I've been experiencing. 

"Yeah, come on." He says helping me off the table and taking my hand and we leave the lab, 

Commander Steve tucks me in, He was about to leave but I grabbed his hand, 

"Please Stay.." I say 

He sits on the edge of my bed, 

"What is it sweetheart?" He asked 

I still have a hold of his hand, 

"Just for a little while..." I say as I feel myself drifting off, into sleep, 

                                      Commander Steve POV 

I watch as Cameron falls asleep still holding my hand this is the first time she's showed any kind of weakness with us, I don't know If I should call it progress or am I getting my hopes up. 

"Good night." I say kissing her forehead, 

I walk back into the lab, where Tony, And Bucky are looking at me, 

"What?" I asked 

"You need to see for yourself." Bucky says
