Akya decided it was better that she go to bed for the night, thinking perhaps that would put her worries away and stop the overwhelming feeling in her chest. Going to sleep, however, caused some kind of blurry nightmare of sorts. The only thing she remembered in the morning was a red haze— and Anakin's voice. He had been yelling something, but Akya couldn't quite put her finger on what it was. The entirety of the vision was so familiar... like something she had seen long ago.
In the morning, she made herself a simple breakfast in the hotel's small kitchen and decided it was better to put on her Jedi robes. They were comforting to her, something she was used to. She could feel the heavy losses that had been sustained over the night, the thousands of Jedi that had betrayed the Republic all dying at the hands of loyal clones.
In her solitude, she thought about Anakin, far away on Mustafar. She thought about Ahsoka, on Mandalore with half the 501st and wondered if she were still alive. What about Rex? And Cody? Double? What had happened to them? Where were they?
Only a little while after she awoke, there was a knock at the door. It couldn't be Anakin— he had a key, and shouldn't be back just yet. It had only been five hours since she'd last seen him. She opened the door cautiously, surprised to find her master waiting behind it. Concern and fear surrounded him, and he stepped inside without so much as a hello.
"Obi-Wan," Akya said, stepping aside and allowing him in. "Thank the makers. I thought you were dead, or perhaps worse, I—" She paused. "Hold on. How did you find me here?" What did he know? How could he locate her? They'd been careful.
"Padmé," Obi-Wan replied. "She told me where you were staying. Are you alright?"
"I'm okay," she said. "The Temple... I don't know how this happened, Master. The death... and the betrayal I felt..."
"I know," said Obi-Wan. "I felt it too. It's terrible."
"Why did you come here?" asked Akya.
Obi-Wan took a deep breath. "Akya, you must tell me where Anakin is."
"I—" Akya bit her lip. "Why would I know where he is?" she lied, beginning to walk around the room with her back to her master.
"When was the last time you saw him?"
"Yesterday."
"And you don't know where he went after that?"
"He went to the briefing at the Temple. That was the last I saw of him."
"Akya, I need your help," Obi-Wan pleaded. "He is in grave danger."
Akya turned around again. "From the Sith?" she asked.
"From himself," Obi-Wan said gravely. Akya looked confused. "Akya..." Master Kenobi stepped away and looked down, taking a deep breath. Then he looked back at his Padawan. "Anakin has turned to the dark side."
Akya took a step away from her master. "You're wrong," she said, shaking her head. "How could you even say that? The dark side?"
Obi-Wan began walking toward one of the large windows in the hotel room, no longer facing his Padawan. "Akya, it's true," he said. "I have seen a— a security hologram of him... killing younglings."
Akya's eyes widened in fear, but the logical part of her told her this couldn't be true. "No," she said. "Not Anakin. He wouldn't do that."
Obi-Wan turned around. "He was deceived by a lie. We all were." Akya stared at him with her lips parted. "It appears that the chancellor is behind everything, including the war." He took a step closer to his Padawan. "Palpatine is the Sith Lord we've been looking for. After the death of Count Dooku, Anakin became his new apprentice."
