You and Jungwon had known each other since junior high, the two of you often went up against each other when it came to academical things. That was a very big reason why the two of you began to bond together too. As years passed, both you and the male made it into the same high school, somehow still competing each other in academics. Though, the friendship bond the two of you had developed was still as strong as ever, allowing a bit of romance and feelings to blossom in between.

"If I get first on the exams you owe me a kiss"

There was an awkward pause. You sat in front of Jungwon as he was looking down at his mathbook on the table. The 2 of you were in his room, studying for the final exams happening the next day. Your mouth was open, surprised at his sudden comment.

"Excuse me?" you say, Jungwon glances up at you again, he tilts his head slightly as he again repeats what he had said

"If I get first on the final exams you owe me a kiss" he repeats. You squint your eyes, looking deep at the boy as you scrunched your nose. He had a poker expression upon his face, not a single facial feature tweaking up

"Hm, fine, but if I get first I expect a nice expensive dinner" you reply, looking back down at your worksheet, shuffles were heard from Jungwon. He had shifted to his side as he now laid on the floor, he slowly shrugged, taking in a deep breath

"Sure, I don't mind" he responds. You roll your eyes, focusing on your work once again

——— The next day, after exams

"The 25th question had me stumped!" Sunoo complains, the boy sat in a desk in front of you as he watched you looking furiously at your phone

"Aye Y/N, what did you say on question 25?" he asks poking your shoulder, you shrug off his touch, still glaring down at your phone. Sunoo allows a frown to form on his face

"Y/N!~" he whines, he begings to tap on your desk, attempting to get your attention, you slap his hands lightly as you let out a low hush

"Ow! That hurt!" Sunoo exclaims, he lets his head fall on top of the palm of his hands as he let a distressed sigh, he glanced at you again, still noticing your deprived composure.

"What's wrong with you? Did something happen?" Sunoo asks, you grumble, taking in a deep breath as you closed your eyes

"Sunoo." you, Sunoo perks up at your voice, his eyes brighten, finally happy that were responding

"Look at this!" you exclaim, you shove your phone in front of the boy's face, startling him as he jumped slightly. He squinted at the screen, put it was too close for him to make out the words plastered on it

"Wait hold on! I can't see it" Sunoo replies, he then grabs hold onto your phone, keeping it a good distance away from his face before reading it. You bite down on your lip as you watched him look across your screen, a gasp escaping his lips as his eyes yet again twinkled back up at you

to taste when I kiss you tomorrow

and I can guarantee that you'll be in
a good mood.

"OH EM GOODNESS" Sunoo squeals, he slams your phone on your desk, jumping out of his seat as he pulled you with him, he begins skipping in place, making you jump with him

"THAT'S LITERALLY SO CUTE!!" Sunoo yells, engulfing you into a not so friendly hug. You smile awkwardly, small coughs following your nervous laughs.

"Sunoo- can't breathe-" you breathe out, Sunoo lets go of you, his smile still plastered on his face as he says a small apology

"Sorry" he apologizes, a huge grin still slapped upon his lips.

"Agh, my head hurts from all this after exam shock" you complain, attempting to change the topic, sitting back down as you began rubbing your head. Sunoo giggles, he too sits back down, crossing his arms on top of your desk as you tilts his head

"I know that's not the only thing giving you a headache right now." he teases

"shut up!"

———— The following day, exam results

"Y/N exam results are posted!" Sunoo screeched.

As Sunoo's voice begins ringing in your ear, you perk up at his statement, jumping from your desk as you followed him to the big bulletin boards near the main entrance. You immediately run up to the top of the list, hoping to see your name at the top, though to your dismay, it wasn't

"Look Y/N! You're number 2! That's great!" Sunoo exclaims, pointing to your name. You gulped deeply

"Not so great actually" you mumble.

Leaving the crowd of students you wait behind a wall of them as you wait for Sunoo to look for his name as you took out your phone. It had made a ding sound not too long ago, notifying you that someone had messaged. You open your messaging app, seeing a gut wrenching name at the top.

looking at the top of the scoreboard, there
lays a name as beautiful as me

too bad I'm not at school

you're right in front of me

texting me right now

You bite on your lip. There's no escaping this now.

You turned around slowly, you were immediately met with the sight of Jungwon standing before you, his phone in hand, your name brightly shown at the top

"You know it's not good to lie right?" Jungwon states, he walks up closer to you, keeping eye contact as he put one hand on your waist. Your stomach does a flip, oh dang... You let out an awkward cough

"I didn't lie... I simply just didn't say the truth" you answer, averting your eyes away. Jungwon lets out a chuckle.

"Mm, same difference" he says, he gently taps your face, making you look into his eyes again.

"I can forgive you for the little white lie if you do what you promised to do" he adds. you squint your eyes

"What promise? I don't remember a promise?" you lie again, Jungwon bends down, a smirk now playing on his face

"Oh really?" he responds. You gulp.

"Does this remind you?" he whispers. Before you could comprehend anything else, Jungwon places his lips on top of yours, his other hand now snaking around your waist as he began kissing you deeply, you shut your eyes, slowly wrapping your arms around his shoulders. You let go of the kiss almost instantly after a few seconds, Jungwon smiles at your shy expression as he allows you to cover your face into his neck.

"You wore it, watermelon, I like it" Jungwon comments, liking his lips. You smack his chest

"Shut up!"
