I sit on the floor of the marui as I brush through my hair gently. The hair around my que is unbraided and I have to take care of it while it's not protected.

Hair got tingled from swimming, requiring me to brush through it but it won't be a quick fix.

Amate showed me how to braid different styles but I guess I will leave that for when I have more time. I am already tired and I don't want to bore myself with unnecessary stuff.

Amate finds a tunic that she pulls over her body, and once I'm done with my hair the two of us leave our marui. Greeting Jake and Neytiri as they are sitting outside.

We find our way down to the other side of the beach, the bonfire is already it up, so we follow it. Other people in the village are enjoying their dinners as well, there are music and voices that we hear but they are somewhere in the distance. Far away but yet close enough for their presence to be known.

Tonowari and Aonung are sitting on sand, cleaning the insides of the fish. Aonungs whole body is lit up due to the fire that he is sitting closely to. Him and his father are sitting on opposites sides from one another, so when we reach the two of them I sit close to him. Watching as he takes another fish and starts to clean it.

"Need help" I ask him, watching as he throws the insides to the side. "I'm almost done, it's ok" he answers as he takes another fish and repeats the process.

Ronal and Tsireya join soon after, carrying bowls and seasonings in their hands.

"Good evening" Ronal greets us and two of them sit down. Tsireya on my left and Aonung on my right.

As they put fish to cook Tsireya and I catch up. Aonung throwing some comments here and there as a tease for his sister. We haven't talked much since the rest of the day was spent helping Tuk learn how to swim. While also trying to help others how to properly float on the surface of the water.

"Are you guys down for a story" Tonowari asks and Aonung groans.

"Anything new tonight" Aonung says sarcastically. "We heard it a thousands of times" he protests but Tonowari shushes him down.

"I bet Anahera hasn't, have you" he asks me. I'm just staring confused at him, not knowing what story he is referring to. "Have you heard of Vasuki before" I shake my head no.

"The one born among the ash people" he starts off. Aonung grabs a piece of wood from somewhere and starts drawing shapes with his blade. I turn my head from him to Tonowari as he continues the story.

"His whole life he dedicated to Eywa" Tonowari adds but I can't help but interrupt.

"Ash people do not believe" I say to him, fear consuming my body only when I realized that I interrupted the chief, but the fear goes away once he calmly nods his head like nothing happened.

He explains that that's the reason why they hated him. How he would hear her voice, her calling. He was seen as a mentally unstable so people would mock him, torture him and call him crazy.

They sound like humans. Is it possible that our people can be that cruel to the point where they decided to get rid of him. And I'm not talking about the shot of an arrow through his head, nor feeding them to animals or any sort of execution that I know of.

They tortured him. Big time.

"They made him walk. All day all night. With no food nor water. They're ash people so they live far away from the ocean. Can you imagine how long it took Vasuki to reach the water with his bare feet alone"

I truly can't, and even imagining it hurts. Is there a point to this story, is there an happy ending. Or is Tonowari just in a need of bringing everyone's mood down.

"Once they reached the ocean ash people threw him into it. With no ability to swim, he was destined to drown. And so he did"

He drowned, he died. His soul leaving his body, lost in between water and sky. In a line that most of us cross without thinking, but not him. His body was doomed to dissolve there, but it didn't.

Through Eywa's will he transformed. His body morphed into a creature so powerful and strong unlike his first na'vi form. A serpent, was what he became. His soul finding a way to the new body that Eywa made out of clay.

"A king of serpents"

And he was blessed with an opportunity, and a new life.

"He grew so big that he now sleeps wrapped around the mountains of whole Pandora" Tsireya says excitedly. Well that really is huge, but is it even true.

"His body sleeps and waits to be called, to help the souls who believe and love" Tonowari says "People would go there, once a year. Bless his soul for all that he went through"

"So his purpose is to help the ones like him, outcasts or even just people in need" I ask Tonowari confused.

"A theory yes, some believe that he is waiting for revenge, but that is not the way Eywa would want it. Great mother wouldn't have made him the king of serpents if it wasn't for a greater good" but instead of Tonowari, Ronal answers my question.

"I mean look around, you don't really see a serpent wrapped around the mountains do you. I just don't know what's the point of the story" Aonung adds.

"Well it's a kids story that has been told throughout generations. My mother used to talk about great Vasuki" Amate murmurs, even if deaf her lip reading has become so great to the point where no one needed to sign the story for her.

"He was a kind and loving na'vi. The story shortened over the years but at the end, what matters is to never lose hope. To always put faith and trust into our great mother, cause she truly has everything planned out".

I watch as the sun hides between the mountains in the distance. Trying to see if there is actually something wrapped around them. A body, and outline. Whatever that could give me hint that he is actually there.

"Here" I look down as Tsireya taps lightly on my shoulder. She is handing me a plate with two fish. Both burnt a shiny yellow color, and I can't wait to taste it.

"Thank you" I say to her as I take the plate from her hands, lightly tapping over the fish to see how hot it is, and it's actually burning. "Aonung told me that you've started your training"

"Great. Now she will think that I talk about her all the time now" Aonung says as he parts the fish meat with his fingers. Separating it so it cools faster.

"We all know you do. Mostly spread rumors but this one's true" Tsireya scoffs "I just started getting hang of it. There's a long way to go".

"I am happy to hear that" I say to her, smile on my face as she reminds me of my sister for a second. Even if I was born as a younger sibling the urge to defend her was always there. To stand in front and protect from whatever it might harm her. And with Tsireya the feeling is the same.

"Now to pray" Ronal calls, reaching her hands for Tonowari and Amate to take, Amate taking Tsireyas, and then mine, finishing off the circle as I place my hands into Aonungs, and then his with his fathers.

All of us close out eyes and Ronal starts "Today we thank Eywa for..." her voice slowly fades as all of my focus goes to a sensation on my right hand. A slow tingling caused by the gentle grip of Aonung's fingers around my palm. As he squeezes my hands, I open my eyes and look at him.

Only to find him looking at my direction. A soft smile on his face.
