"Ah, one of my favorite humans! Come in, come in," I smile, welcoming the attorney general of the state of New York Gavin Thornton into my penthouse.

"Please tell me you're all decked up to seduce me," he grins mischievously as lean forward to air kiss. "You're smoking hot."

I have put on a ravishing Vivienne Westwood leggy red gown. It's an off-the-shoulder dress that accentuates my figure to full effect, flaunting my long limbs with a thigh-high slit while cinching into my taut torso. My brunette locks cascade down my back in a sleek and straight do. The makeup is minimal as usual. No jewelry, except the drop diamond earrings.

Today I have gotten ready all by myself. No stylist. No makeup artist. Both Celia and Marylenne were shocked by my decision and in awe at the same time. I've deliberately chosen a dress that's aimed to bring the mighty Areston De L'Aquila on his knees, and I fully intend to accomplish that goal before we leave for the event.

"Have some shame. You have a wife and I'm headed to an event immediately after," I snort, winding my arm into his as I walk him to my home office.

"Dang, why'd you remind me?"

"Nice try. How are things?"

"Good. What's up? Did I see Senator Sherrod exit your building?"

"Yeah. He's helping me on a streaming service acquisition."

"What's in for him?"

"What do you think?" I chuckle.

"Second term?"

"It looks tough so..."

"Ah, got it," he laughs in realization, settling on the couch opposite to me. "So, tell me. What's it that I can do for you?"

"I couldn't show up at your place of work and risk any connection to this case so I gathered it would be safe here. Do you remember the Sarah Marshall pro bono case I won two months back?"

"Sure. What about it?"

"Her husband's into a massive high-profile human trafficking operation. Here's all evidence that ties several influential figures to the case. There are several government figures involved," I slide the heavy dossier over to him.

"Oh?"

"I thought it was just a common domestic violence case and sexual assault case back then, but there were things that made me believe her husband was involved in some deep shit. I had someone look into it."

His brows draw into a deep furrow as he studies the first couple of pages. "This is some real shit, Juliette. Sarah didn't know any of this back then?"

"Apparently not. She called me about a month ago to tell me about these men who'd broken into her house. They didn't hurt her but took her husband's devices and stuff. Of course the stuff I'm giving you is not admissible but it's enough for you to know the shit's that's going on so you can launch an official investigation on it."
