Ananya slumped in her couch, her gaze fixed on the glowing screen of her laptop, which seemed to mock her with its endless parade of job listings. The past week had been a rollercoaster ride from hell - first, the dramatic breakup with her no-good ex, then the gut-punch of her company going belly-up. Now, here she was, faced with the task of finding a new job and holding onto what remained of her sanity.

With a heavy sigh, Ananya decided to take a break from the grind of job hunting and headed to the kitchen in search of some much-needed sustenance. As she rummaged through the fridge, she couldn't help but marvel at the sheer absurdity of her situation. Who knew adulthood would be this... fun?

Maggi seemed like the perfect solution - quick, easy, and comforting. She expertly whipped up a bowl, adding a generous sprinkle of cheese for good measure, before carrying it back to the living room.

Settling onto the couch, Ananya grabbed the TV remote and flicked through the channels until she found something to distract her from her worries. As she mindlessly watched, the familiar ding of her email inbox interrupted the background noise. Ananya glanced at her laptop, her curiosity piqued.

Ananya set her bowl aside and reached for her laptop, she clicked open the email, her eyes scanning the words on the screen.

Vinterra'va? Apdhina?

( What's Vinterra?)

Amma! Adhu oru periya tequila brand, andha company lerndhu dhan offer vandhuruku

( Ma! It's one of the biggest tequila brand in the country, I've got an offer to work there)

Tequila va?

Radha hesitated for a second, which Ananya sensed. She sighed into the phone,

Ma, adhu oru tequila brand oda company adhukaga anga irukuravanga yellarum kudhichitu sutha maathanga.

( Ma, it's a company of a tequila brand, it doesn't mean people there would be drinking 24/7)

Yedhukum nee gavanama irukanum, interview yeppo?

( Still you have to be extra careful, when is the interview?)

Next week

Seri, bathrama po, marakaama adha yedhututu po

( Fine, be very careful. Remember to bring that with you)

Ananya couldn't help but roll her eyes as she listened to her mother on the other end of the line. No matter how many times they talked about safety precautions, her mother always seemed to treat the topic like it was some state secret. Even the mere mention of the words "pepper spray" elicited a hushed tone from her, as if speaking them aloud would summon danger to her daughter's doorstep.

Ananya couldn't suppress a chuckle as she finally managed to persuade her mother that she would be safe. Hanging up the phone, she shook her head in amused disbelief at her mother's overprotective tendencies.
