As Ni-ki's words hung in the air, a profound silence enveloped the dimly lit room. The weight of his suffering seemed to press down on me, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of empathy for him. As a crown prince he should be treated like this, but then this thing all happen because they thought he was plotting a rebellion when he's actually not.
"You're incredibly brave," I said softly, my voice filled with admiration,who would have thought That I will feel bad about the villain that I made. "But no one should have to endure such pain alone."
With gentle hands, I continued to apply the herbal medicine to his bruises, each touch a silent gesture of solidarity and support.
"I'm grateful that you're here," Ni-ki said after a while, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's been a long time since I've had someone to talk to."
"Isn't Lady lusi always visit you?" I ask, since my maid said it.
"No one visited me here since I got locked up."I got a little confused. Does that mean she only goes here so everyone can think that she is visiting the crown prince?
"Then I heard a wrong information, the maid that you sent to my house tells me that, Lady lusi always visits you." I said before applying the the last herbal medicine on his arms.
"There's nothing new , Rumors always spread like fire." He said before he take a look at my clothes.
"I didn't notice this when you enter but, why are you wearing maid uniform?" He suddenly ask while sitting on the bed.
"Oh, about that , Commoners can't enter the palace now so I needed to disguised myself so I can visit you, I promise didn't I." I said before I smile at him that made him look at me.
Ni-ki's eyes softened as he gazed at me, a flicker of something unreadable passing through his expression.
"Silly girl, why did you do this, if someone caught you , you won't be able to get out of the palace." He said before he stare at me again with his eyes that was full of emotions.
"I won't get caught." I said trying to assure him.
"Be careful of all the people here, even my brother." I look at him confused, I know someone is plotting bad things for him but I'm pretty sure his brother is kind. He was the main lead that I made.
"Don't you trust Jake? Aren't you close with him?"
"No one can be trusted, even your family can betrayed you for power." He said before he look at his hand.
"Palace is not just a lonely place, it was also full of betrayal and it all comes to unexpected person." He said before he look at me again.
As Ni-ki's words lingered in the air, a profound silence settled over the dimly lit room.
In that moment of silence, I couldn't help but ponder the implications of Ni-ki's revelations. His warnings about betrayal within the palace walls echoed in my mind, raising doubts about the characters I had once deemed trustworthy.
"Someone is entering hide." He said that makes me hide under his bed blanket.
He was holding the blanket tightly as I heard someone come inside.
"Are you in pain brother?" with that voice, I already know who it was.
"Get out of here Jake." I heard him said that suddebly make jake laugh.
" I just visited you, aren't you happy to see me?" he sounded like he was making Fun of his brother who's been locked up here.
"I'm tired just leave my room." He said that makes jake laugh again.
"What ever you say brother, Before I forgot Lusi visited me again." I heard Jake said before I heard the door closed.
"you can get out now, jake's gone." I immediately get out of the blanket when I heard him.
"You are just letting him be with Lusi? Aren't you inkove with her?" when he heard what I had said, he looks at me like I said the most ridiculous things.
"Why would I be inlove with her? I already saw a lot of times that Jake and her meet secretly." He calmly said that makes me stun for a moment..
"So the story really does change, except for the other event," I whispered to myself.
"Did you say something?" Ni-ki's inquiry snapped me out of my reverie, and I quickly shook my head.
"No, I didn't say anything," I responded hastily, my mind racing with newfound revelations.
A silence been felt on the whole room.. I can help but look at him.. So this is the dark side of my story that I didn't know.
"Ni-ki, would you like me to tell you a story?" I offered since, his room was so quiet.
"Sure, Go ahead I will listen." He said before he looks at me.
"Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Evercrest, there lived a crown prince named Alexander. He was known throughout the land for his bravery, intelligence, and kindness. However, everything change when he fell inlove with a girl, a girl who has a power which can help everyone.. Since he love her a lot of problem arise and made him a villain in the end.. In the end the girl love his brother and not him, and him not being the main lead he was killed by his brother so all the bad things can end.. You know like he become the sacrifice so everyone can have peace." I got shiver when he looks at me after I told him a short story.
"Which one do you think is the best?" he said.
"I don't know." I simply said, I tell him that short story without him knowing that it was actually the plot of this novel that I make.
"A hero would sacrifice you to save the world.... But the villain would sacrifice the whole world just to save you." I was left dumbfounded with his answer.... Cause he was not wrong.
