Hey, kiddos <3 Just a quick 18+ warning my loves.
Vox examined himself in the mirror, his eyes roving up and down. This kind of outfit was foreign to him, and it felt weird just to wear it. The black skinny jeans fit him perfectly, sloping down over his legs and ass. The shirt was closer to comfort but still felt unprofessional, which was supposed to be the point, but according to Velvette, it was "sexy." Or as close as she could get him without him refusing to wear it blatantly.
He was wearing a navy blue silk button-up, collar flat, and the buttons stopping an inch below the collarbone. It was loose and yet tight in all the right places, making Vox look more toned than he already was. The boots that Velvette had chosen for him were navy blue Doc Martins with a sheen to match the shiny silk shirt. They reached up to his mid calves and laced up all the way. The blue was alluring and would draw attention to his legs should he choose to dance.
"All of this just to go to a club..." Vox muttered as he adjusted his collar.
"No. All this so you can get laid again, babe." Velvette's higher-pitched voice came from the doorway as she walked in.
"I don't want to 'get laid' Vel."
"Sure you do. And besides, you need to move on from this whole thing with Val. Be independent!" Velvette stripped off her puffy skirt and top as she spoke and began to change into a pair of black shorts and a tube top.
"I...I'm not ready to move on from that. And yes, I know I should, but Vel... It was forty years. I gave him forty years of my afterlife, and he breaks up with me because I told him I needed to work late! Like, come on. And I don't want to get back together with him, that's not the problem, it's that I just can't see myself with anyone else yet." Vox inhaled deeply to regain his breath.
Velvette pulled her hair up into pigtails and then started to braid them into several little braids as she looked down pensively. She sighed before continuing.
"I get that Vox, but it'll take a lot longer to be ready if you don't set it into motion. And make him jealous. That's the key. If he sees you with another guy on your arm, he'll be livid, love."
Vox cracked his back and paced to the window, thinking. The lights of the city shown up like a beacon, savage and brutal. A rueful chuckle escaped his lips as he stared out and pressed his clawed hand against the glass.
"I think about it, Doll," Vox said with his signature smile.

Valentino staggered out of his bedroom as he wiped the tears from the previous night out of the corner of his eyes. It had been two weeks since he'd broken it off with Vox, and he couldn't get over it. Usually, when they broke up over stupid stuff, they were back together within a few days, but this time was different.
Val hadn't even seen Vox in weeks, and Velvette barely talked to him. He felt kept in the dark, and he hated that, figuratively and literally. A brand new flash of anger coursed through him, and he smashed a clenched fist into the wall, shattering a picture frame in the process. He snarled low and clear while removing his hand, covered in glass fragments and bleeding, from the wall.
Looking at the picture he'd smashed, Valentino's eyes widened, and he clenched his jaw. It was a picture of him and Vox on their twentieth anniversary, standing in front of the shark-infested waterfront of Pentagram City. Their hands were threaded together as they kissed.
Valentino smiled ruefully as he picked up the picture, which had fallen to the floor. He ordered Kitty to get it fixed and stepped into his massive closet. Other than the time he spent with Vox, this was his favourite place, filled with hundreds of designer outfits for different occasions.
