O Z Z I E

I wake up and Lorelei's making breakfast. My neck hurts from the way I was sleeping.

"Well that's the last time I'm sleeping on the couch." I get up and walk to the kitchen to see what she's making.

"I don't know how you feel bad, I feel great." Lorelei says

"That's because you were laying on my lap the whole night. What are you making?"

"French toast and sausage links! I got the recipe from work."

"Oh yeah, I forgot you work at Millies. Do you not work weekends?"

"I work one weekend a month, the rest I just work on Tuesdays and thursdays"

"Do you work next weekend?"

"Unfortunately I do. Why, did you wanna hang out?"

"Kind of, but it's okay. I can just come up there and see you if I want."

"That's okay with me, just order something or you'll get kicked out."

"Of course, I'm not a heathen."

"Bon Appetit! Breakfast is served."

"Wow, this actually looks really good."

Lorelei smacks my arm "Why would you doubt me?"

"I never doubted you for a second."

I take a bite of the french toast. "Wow. I would say you should be a cook at Milles, but you're way too pretty to work in the back."

"Why thank you." she giggles

We finish breakfast and put our dishes away. Then we hear the front door open.

"Hi dad!"

"That's your dad? I don't know why but I expected him to be older."

"Thank you.You must be Ozzie." He shakes my hand. "Loreleis told me so much about you.

"All good things I hope, but knowing our history I bet that's not the case."

"Well no, but lately you're all she talks about, and its good things."

"Dad!" Lorelei says grumpily

"What? Am I embarrassing you?"

"No. Maybe."

"Trust me Lorelei, there's nothing he could say to embarrass you, at least to me."

"Okay, good. Do you wanna go upstairs now?"

"Sure."

We go upstairs and both sit on the bed.

"So what should we do?" Lorelei asks.

"We could make out or something." I say

Lorelei laughs

"Oh I'm being serious."

"Are you now?" She leans into me

"Yes." I lean back. We start to kiss and it isn't like the hot, steamy kind. It's more passionate, loving. It's the kind where you see sparks, and that was exactly what I was seeing.

L O R E L E I

This is it, this is the one. I've kissed other people before, but not like this. She's so delicate, it isn't rough, but it's still passionate. I've never seen sparks when kissing someone, so I had no idea what it meant when other people said the phrase, but I get it now. These are sparks.

We stop kissing and look at each other for a second.

"Okay, wow, that was. Yeah." Ozzie says

"Yeah. So what else do you wanna do?"

"We can write the book."

"Let's do it."

We take an hour writing. We're a little past the climax at this point, we only have a little more to go until we're completely finished and ready to submit it. And I'm sitting here thinking how lucky I am. I'm finally happy. And I have someone that makes me happy. And of all people, Ozzie Mincal. The girl I hated four months ago, is that person.

"Hey Ozzie."

"What's up?"

"Do you ever think we were put in the contest together for a reason?"

"What do you mean?"

"Like, if we had never been paired together, we could have never become so close."

"Yeah, you're right. I'm glad we were put together."

"Me too." We both smile. I lean over and kiss her cheek, she blushes.

"What was that for?" She asks me.

"Because I felt like it." I answer. I get up and go to leave the room. I look to Ozzie. "Are you coming with me?" I ask.

"Oh, yeah." She gets up and walks out with me. "Where are we going?"

"I don't know yet. Where do you wanna go?"

"Maybe we could go for a drive?"

"I'm down. Do you want to drive or do you want me to?" I ask

"I'll drive. We can use the sunroof." She replies

"Ooo, good idea! Should we grab our stuff in case we actually end up going somewhere?"

"Now that's a good idea." She laughs

We get into her car and put on a playlist. We listen to it for about an hour until she parks by a big field.

"Why did you stop here?" I ask

"Because I have a surprise." She responds excitedly. She proceeds open her trunk and pull out a picnic blanket and basket. Along with a bottle.

"Oh my god. Are you taking me on a picnic?" I ask

O Z Z I E

I watch as Lorelei bounces excitedly as I tell her that I am, in fact, taking her on a picnic.

"Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god! This is amazing! Go faster!"

"Okay." I laugh. "I didn't know you liked picnics so much."

"I love picnics! And it's so nice today too. Perfect for a picnic." She looks at me and smirks.

"Do I see you blushing Ozzie Mincal?"

"Maybe."

"I like it. It suits you. Especially when it's over me." She giggles

We find a spot to set up and sit down. We eat the little triangle shaped sandwiches that I made and drank some juice. She lays her head down on my lap. I look down at her smiling.

"I hope I'm comfortable."

"Oh you are. And I love the view."

"Me too."

She then leans up and gives me a peck on the lips. I start to blush again.

"Wow, again? You blush easily huh?"

"Only when its you, hun"

She gets red and we both start laughing.

"Well you got me flustered. That's a first."

"Really?"

"Yeah. You know, you're the first girl who's ever made me feel like this."

"Like what?"

"A person."
