"The wedding needs to go on. We can't stop the wedding bells from ringing now.", a deep and rough but familiar voice speaks.
I turned, still in Suraj's hold, to face my grandfather who was talking. He was my Muthu thatha (grandpa), as I called him.
"Surya died, what can we do now, thatha." Suraj asked, breaking the eerie silence.
"Shivani and Surya will get married." Kaveri Patti (grandma) spoke, supporting her husband's statement.
"What, no? I can't marry Suraj.", I say quickly, pushing myself out of his hold and glaring at them with my red eyes.
"No, you will marry Suraj, Shivani. And that's final." Kaveri Patti said walking off.
