Chapter 2

Astrids POV:
Today was the day. The day hiccup and I become husband and wife. I was at my parents house getting ready.

A blanket of white covered the grounds outside. Snow on my most special day, that makes the day even better. A knock suddenly came from the door.

"Come in!" I yell as I fix my hair.

The door opens and Valka walks in. She has a box and a piece of cloth in her hands.

"Morning Valka." I turned around to face her.

"Morning sweetheart." I love it when Valka calls me names like that.

"You look beautiful Astrid." Valka said as she walked towards me.

"Thank you. Also, what's in the box?" My eyes were set on the box. Valka opened the box and in the box was golden bracelet cuffs.

"These were worn by every Haddock chieftess brides since our tribe was established. Hiccup received his also. He also received his crests too."
"Crests?" I was confused.

"Oh, that's right, you need your crests too."

Valka reaches for the cloth she put on the table. She opens the cloth to reveal crests engraved with symbols of StormFly. Oh, StormFly, i miss you. Tears start to fall down my face.

"Their beautiful." I say. Valka smiles. She puts a hand on my face.

"Now come on, let's get you ready." Valka and my mother help me get ready.

~At the wedding venue~
Hiccups POV:

The sun was out, the sky was blue like Astrids eye's. I couldn't stop shaking, I'm so nervous.

"Look, hiccup is shaking." Tuffnut was laughing.
"You cold princess?" Snoutlout added.
"Haha, very funny." I couldn't help but smile at their comments.

The crowd was waiting for Astrid to arrive, but I know she's probably nervous, like me. I look down at the ground trying to stop myself from shaking. I don't know why I'm nervous, it's Astrid. We've together for years, why am I nervous? I tried to collect my thoughts.

All the sudden, I hear a flute playing from behind me. She's almost here.
I look up as the crowd parted down the middle to create a walkway.

As I look for her, I finally find her. She looks like an angel in the beautiful white dress with her blonde hair let down.

Her sapphire blue eyes locked with my emerald green eyes. She walks down the aisle towards me. She walks gracefully like a goddess. I step down to help her up the steps. We then turn to face each other.

We then are handed papers with our vows on them. She wrote so much and i wrote on only a single paper.As she reads her vows, I couldn't help but smile. Tears almost escaped my eyes.

It was my turn. I was so nervous that I froze. Astrid then puts a hand on mine and I look up to see her smiling. My shaking went away. I took a deep breath and I began to read my vows. I could feel Astrid staring at me as I kept looking at my paper.

Once we finished our vows, I could hear the crowd sniffling and crying. I look over at the gang only to see them all crying. It was a rare sight to see Snoutlout crying.

Gothi motions her staff and instructs us to join hands. I hold out my hands to Astrid. She looks down at my hands for a split second and my stomach turns. Is she having second thoughts?

But then she looks up at me and smiles. She nods and places her hands in my hand. I couldn't contain my smile.

Gothi then wraps the gold and white ceremonial banner around our joined hands. I'm glad the twins didn't loose the banner. With the swift motion of her staff, Gothi then declares us Chief and Chieftess, husband and wife.

I lean in the kiss Astrid and she didn't hesitate to lean into the kiss. I can't believe that I married Astrid. She's now Astrid Haddock. We turned around to the crowd as they went wild.

I held onto Astrids hand as I stared up at the sky. I couldn't help but think about my best bud and all our fun times flying through the night sky. I wish toothless was here on this special day, i wish all the dragons were.
