unframed joy

i craved capturing it all, this essence of life.
but what was "it" exactly?
the art of noticing, yes,
but the experience itself never quite held the same spark as documenting it.
i craved crafting beautiful scenes,
presenting the world exactly as it unfolded in my mind's eye.
don't get me wrong,
the experience thrilled me –
to breathe in life,
witness the human dance,
holding snippets in a frame.
that fuelled my soul.

then you, guitar strings' mellow dance mirrored in your eyes,
laughter a melody spilling from your lips.
suddenly, capturing moments felt like a whisper
compared to the symphony unfolding before me.

the photos hold echoes of our laughter, fragments of sunshine trapped on a screen,
proof of shared adventures,
goofy faces contorted on mountaintops,
stolen kisses under the ocean's roar.
but the real magic, my sweetheart,
isn't trapped on a digital frame.
it's here, right now,
the way your eyes ignite
when a dandelion seed catches the breeze,
how you chase it with a giggle that rings truer than any wind chime ever could,
that is the essence of life,
finding meaning with you in a world filled with uncertainty.
