Lumiess of Altarus, currently living as an exchange student under the protection of the USSR and being granted asylum in the USSR, was summoned by the Soviet Ministry of Foreign Affairs to their building in Smolenskaya-Sennaya street

Having spent much of the past month in one of the famous Soviet University in Moscow, she has gotten accustomed to her life in the Soviet Union that she was much more livelier than when she was first brought here

The same was true for Lilceide. Taking up part-time work as a lecturer in a certain university in Moscow, she teaches a course on the continental common language

A Soviet Foreign Affairs staff member led them to a guest room. There, the Soviet government officials that were waiting for them stood up to greet them with a bow

???: Please take your seats

The two were guided to the seats at the head of the table before the meeting is started by Vladimir Titov, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR

Titov: We apologize for summoning you on such short notice, Comrades

Lumiess: It's the least we could do for those that took me in for protection. It is us that should be grateful. Moving on, what is it that you need from me?

Lavrov: My name is Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union. Are you aware of the incident where the Parpaldia Empire executed a large number of our Soviet tourists?

Lumiess: Yes, we did hear of it. We pray that your people find peace in the world beyond

Lumiess and Lilceide both touched their left hand to the right side of her chest and closed their eyes. It was a beautiful gesture and traditional spiritual ritual among the Altarus people

Lavrov: Thank you, the Soviet government has a proposal for you. After we have driven the Papaldian army out of the Kingdom of Fenn, would you be willing to declare yourself, ex-princess as General Secretary of Socialist People's Republic of Altarus's legitimate government? Naturally, the Soviet Union and all members of the New Comintern Pact would recognize your claim, and we will also help persuade other countries with diplomatic ties to us to recognize it as well

Both Lumiess's and Lilceide's expression went slack in surprise

Lumiess: Th... that's... I didn't dare to hope, and I would be grateful if you were to help me, but... um... if you were to do so, the Papaldia Empire might see it as a territorial rebellion with the potential to shake their national foundations and begin a war of extermination against the Soviet Union and the NCP. It could subject your country to much sorrow. Would you still be willing to support my kingdom?

While Altarus was outside the civilized areas, they had a remarkably strong military. However, even though they had investigated the Parpaldia Empire's capabilities, they still suffered a massive defeat. Even though Lumiess knew the power that the USSR had, the fear of a superpower was still engraved in her heart
