"Wanna talk about it.? I can hear you thinking." Devale said as they both laid side by side listening to the rain fall against the window
"I wouldn't know where to start." Crystal said
"How about the truth." Devale stated
"Devale I never lied to you-
"Really.?" Devale ask
"I know it might seems like it cause you so desperately want to run my prints and coming up empty handed instead of learning me, the person thats in front of you." Crystal said
"You dont think that I should think its not weird-
"What I find weird is that you running my prints time and time again, you do that with all the girls you meet.?" Crystal said
"Wait dont try to turn this on me-
"Im not.... that's not what im trying to do." Crystal said as she sigh and sat up
"Okay well just talk to me." Devale said
"Look everything that I had said to you about my life has been 100 precent true-
"Why didnt you tell me you had a daughter.?" Devale ask
"I didnt know what level we were on and I keep my personal life very private for many reason. And one is like today when y'all question my baby about me." Crystal said
"I had no parts in that, I wouldn't do that especially what she went through today." Devale said
"I join the army fresh outta high school to escape home, climb the ranks pretty fast with my shooting skills. When I was 20 I thought I found the love of my life, life happened and I fell pregnant. I was happy but my life change Ian was injured and the military never brought him back and he blame me ever since-
"Why.?" Devale ask
"Umh, I wasnt supposed to be in the field but my CO ask me to sit in, in one of the interrogation and I did. Should've said no cause I was 6 months pregnant then but I didnt. Ten minutes into the interrogation we were attack, took us totally by surprise we lost three man and ten were injured. Ian cover me and got most of the heat, he never really told me that he blame me for his departure from the army but the way he treated me at the end of my pregnancy towards when I had Maylah I knew he did." Crystal said
"You said you not from here." Devale said
"Im not im from Tennessee, after I had my baby I moved back home and was station there. Ian wanted me to quit but I didnt want to. For years it wasnt right cause Ian saw me living his dream, when Maylah was 12 I couldnt take it anymore and told Ian it was over. At the same time I got a job offer to work for IAB undercover for the army, and just to get away from Ian I took the job. I serve a year and when I came back home Ian nor my daughter was nowhere to be found." Crystal said
"He didnt-
"Ohh yes he did, he moved him and Maylah three months before I was supposed to come home to Atlanta. I call, text even hire a private investigator nothing for a whole year. And then when I finally found them I had to go back for another 6 months." Crystal said
"Im sorry-
"Its okay, down the line I choose my career instead of my daughter and I lost almost two whole year with her. When I came back she hated me for what her father told her, but I tried very hard to be there. She came around a little start staying with me on the weekends, and then Ian did that bullshit at school and now she wants to live with me full time." Crystal said
"I dont blame her, what kind of father would do that." Devale said
"Look, I cant tell you about my past or what I have done in the army and I dont know if thats enough for you-
