Chapter 11

Julie's POV

I walk out of my room in a new outfit. I'm wearing a white crop top and simple baggy jeans with a belt chain. I grab my phone, journal, and a random flannel I found. I tie the flannel around my waist before running downstairs. I see Flynn sitting there eating an apple as Carlos "entertains" her with his ghost theories. I walk over laughing.

"Hey I need my bestie back thanks for keeping good care of her," I say grabbing her wrist as she looks at me with appreciative eyes

"Okay dad said he'll be back by 6:00," Carlos said as we left

"Okay I'll be in the studio," I say, "With my boy band," as I leave I see him smile at the words 'boy band'.

We walk out of the house and see Carrie at the gate of our house.

"Is that Carrie," I asked her

"Yeah let's go see what's up," Flynn said dragging me over there

We walk over to see a tearful Carrie. Concerned Flynn and I walk over and I ask, "Carrie? What are you doing here? And what's wrong?"

"Oh uh Julie," She says wiping her tears, "Your Orpheum performance made me feel so bad. I was a brat to you after your mom died. I guess it's because she felt like a mother to me too,"

"Okay?" Flynn says, "But what are you doing here,"

"I came to apologize," Carrie says with a deep breath, "I'm sorry you're really talented and I was jealous of that. I shouldn't have been so mean to you and completely cut you off, both of you."

Baffled, I ask, "Wait, are you being serious?"

With a sniffle she says, "Yeah and if you don't forgive me that's fine I deserve it,"

I look at Flynn and with smiles on both our faces we pull Carrie into a hug.

"We forgive you Carrie," Flynn says, "We missed having you on our team,"

And with a laugh we walk to the studio leaving Carrie to go practice with Dirty Candy, "Bye Care!!"
We say and with one last smile we walk to the studio. On our way there a weird jolt hits the middle of my chest. Shooting me backwards a few steps.

"What the-" Flynn says concerned, "Julie are you okay?"

"Yeah," I say with a few breaths, "I'm fine,"

We walk into the studio and I sit on the couch with shock written all over my face. Reggie is the first one to walk over.

"Julie you look like you just saw a ghost," Reggie says, "Pun intended,"

I roll my eyes and say, "I'm fine just a little startled,"

"Seriously," Luke says, "What 'startled' you?"

He puts air quotes around startled and I ignore him.

"Let's just practice," Alex says to everyone then to Luke he whispers, "She'll tell us when she's ready,"

"Alright whatever," Luke says looking kind of concerned

I walk over to my mic and wait for them to count me in. I have no idea I'm singing till I hear the guys join in.

(Julie)

"Yeah we got issues," Reggie yells out when we finish which makes all of us laugh. As I'm laughing though I get another jolt flinging me into Luke's arms.

"Jules, Is that?" Luke says worried if he was right, "Please don't tell me that-,"

"I think it is," I whisper with tears in my eyes

"Julie, you've been getting these jolts?" Alex asks worried

"Yeah? But I don't know how," I say

"For how long have you hid this from us?!" Reggie yells his volume scaring us

"I swear it just happened this morning that's it," I say

"Jules but how?" Luke asks

"I don't know," I say walking and leaning on the piano

"What if when she saves us the jolts transferred to her," Reggie says

"That might be the smartest thing that has ever left your mouth," Alex says joking
"Very funny," Luke says, "But what if he's right if she got this from us then maybe there's away to reverse it with a hug!"

Luke says pulling Julie into a hug, "Did it work?"

"I don't know," I say turning into Luke arms with a smile on my face resting my hand on his chest and a purple mark starts glowing

"Wait, Julie, what's that on your arm?" Alex said pointing it out

Luke and I look down and he says, "Julie, have you met Caleb recently?"

"No? I don't even know what he looks like," I say rubbing my hand over the mark

"That's the same mark he gave us," Alex says

We all sit and stare at the walls and ceiling probably with the same thought in our heads.

Will we lose each other?
