Wooyoung

I gazed at my reflection in the mirror, my mouth turning up at the edges. Perfect. I was wearing a smart-looking white shirt and black trousers, with plain studs in my ears and some simple make-up adorning my face. I'd swept my bangs back, leaving my forehead bare, with a small amount of product to keep everything in place.

I twiddled the rings on my fingers nervously, thinking about the evening ahead. I had booked at a fancy restaurant in the city, wanting to impress Felix. This was our first date, and I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted to give Felix the best night he'd ever had, to show him how much he meant to me. That I would look after him and be by his side for the rest of our lives.

Glancing at my bedside clock, I spun on my heel, grabbing my wallet and keys and heading out the door. I didn't want to ruin everything from the get-go by turning up late.

I waved goodbye to Kyung-ah on the way out, and she winked at me, throwing an excited smile in my direction.

"Wish me luck," I said.

"You don't need it, Woo-ah," she replied, shaking her head. "Go get 'em, champ!"

I could feel my cheeks warming up, so I dashed out the door and jumped into my car. As I drove to Felix's house, I cycled through my playlist on the car stereo, finding the most romantic song I had. By the time I'd done that, I was in Felix's street, and I was soon parking outside his apartment building.

As I entered the building and climbed the stairs to the first floor, my nerves returned. Standing at Felix's front door, I reached out to knock and noticed with a jolt that my hand was shaking. Gulping nervously, I knocked quickly, then shoved my hands in my pockets.

Only a few seconds later, the door burst open to reveal a grinning Felix. As I stood there staring, my heart stuttered and my jaw went slack. He was an angel. For just a moment, it was as if there was a golden aura around him, his blonde hair surrounding his head like a halo. His skin practically glowed, and his face shone brighter than the sun itself.

I might have been staring a bit too long, because Felix suddenly waved his hand in front of my face, snapping me out of my trance.

"O-oh, sorry, it's just you look ... beautiful..." I sighed.

He blushed at that, and stammered, "S-so do you, W-wooyoung." Then his face fell. "I didn't know I was supposed to get dressed up."

I looked at his clothes for the first time and saw that he was wearing a simple light blue t-shirt and jeans. He wasn't wearing any jewellery except a plain ring on his little finger. But it didn't matter what he was wearing; he'd always look beautiful to me.

"What, no, it's fine! You look amazing!" I assured him. "I probably went a bit overboard myself..."

I shuffled my feet nervously for a moment.

"Anyway," I continued, reaching forward and taking his hand in mine, "shall we go?"

He curled his fingers around mine, his bright smile suddenly returning. "Sure!" he said.

As we got out to the street and I unlocked my car, Felix asked, "So where are we going?"

I smiled at him happily. "I booked a table at a nice restaurant in town. You're gonna love it!"

Felix's smile faltered for a second, but as I started the engine, the song I'd chosen earlier began playing. He grabbed my hand and gazed at me adoringly as I drove.

A little while later we arrived at the restaurant, and I parked in the street nearby. We got out of the car and I took Felix's hand, noticing that it was trembling a bit. I looked at his face and saw that he seemed nervous, his eyes downcast and his breathing faster than normal.
