Nyla was sitting quietly in the practice room, sitting down for a second as she had just spent the past hour practicing the groups new song and dance. She had been catching her breath for a few minutes when she heard the door open. She assumed it was another idol or trainee but when she looked it turned out to be hyunjin "oh hi" she smiled, looking up at the boy "what's up, Jini?" She asked, standing up
He stood by the door "can you do something for me?"
She stood up and walked towards her backpack, packing the water bottle inside and then swinging it on her back "if you want to paint me I'm going to have to shower first" she said
"How did you know" he laughed, watching her walk towards the door
She chuckled "it's basically the only thing you ask me to do" she said, opening the door and walking through it "come on then" she smiled, holding the door open for hyunjin
Nyla and hyunjin got back to the dorm and nyla went straight to the shower. She showered quickly and then went to hyunjin's room "hyunjin, I'm ready" she said, knocking on the door
"Come in" he Instructed. She opened the door and saw him sitting at his desk with a sketch pad in front of him "are you ready?" He asked her, turning down to look at the younger girl
She nodded and sat beside him "do I pose or?" She asked, looking around the room
Hyunjin stayed quiet and thought for a second "just talk to me" he smiled "it'll turn out cool"
She nodded and looked up at the ceiling "what do I say?" She chuckled
He laughed with her and shrugged "whatever you want" he said
She nodded "this morning I ate toast, it was nice but kinda dry" she sighed "you know how sometimes no matter how much butter you put on a slice of toast it doesn't make it any less dry?" She asked, looking at the older boy who was busy drawing
He nodded "I hate dry toast" he told her "it gets stuck in the back of my throat" he chuckled
"Ugh, I hate that" she exclaimed while laughing with him.
Hyunjin spent the next 30 minutes drawing nyla. She was mid sentence in the drawing so her mouth was open and her eyes were looking up, as if she was searching for another thing to talk about. Which she probably was. She had never really seen a drawing of someone speaking but she liked it. It made the drawing seem alive and not just left over traces of lead "it's amazing, hyunjin, really" she told him "I love it"
He smiled at her "thank you" he said, looking back down at the drawing "should I paint it?" He asked
She studied it for a second before responding "yeah" she nodded "use watercolor" she told him "it'll look nice"
He nodded and dug through his drawers for his painting stuff.
Nyla sat on hyunjin's bed and played music while they both sat there. Hyunjin was busy painting the picture, occasionally looking back at nyla to see if he got the Color right "I love this song" she said, turning the music up
He laughed "I always hear it blasting from your room"
She laughed and closed her eyes "are you going to be finished soon?" she asked "I'm tired and I want to get food"
"You can go get food" he told her "the convenience store is still open, plus I'm going to be quite awhile, I wanna make sure this is perfect" he said
She nodded "Okay" she breathed, standing up and picking up her phone "i'll be back soon" she told him.
Nyla went to the convenience store and bought four things, a coffee for her and another for hyunjin, then her favourite snack and hyunjin's favourite. It only took 10 minutes for her to leave and then come back with the food "jini" she called "I'm back" she walked into his room to find that he was still painting the drawing "Here" she smiled, handing him the coffee and snack
He smiled up at her "aw thank you" he exclaimed "aren't you a sweetie" he joked, patting her head
She laughed and sat back on his bed.
She sat there eating her snack while telling him about things that happened in school that week. She loved telling him about all the drama in school and he loved hearing about it "I can't believe he did that" hyunjin sighed, shaking his head "unbelievable"
"I know!" Nyla exclaimed, laying down on the bed and looking at the ceiling "he's so self absorbed" she scoffed
Hyunjin nodded "what happened to that girl?" He asked, looking at her. She gave him a look and he chuckled "you know the one that was being rude to you"
"Ohhhh" she breathed "well after these past few weeks she's kind of stopped talking to me. After she realized that our group didn't flop she just stopped" nyla shrugged
"Good" he said, nodding slightly "I'm glad you have Jungwon in your classes" he said
Nyla nodded "same"
After a while hyunjin finally finished the painting. Nyla was right, the water Color made it look a lot nicer. Hyunjin signed his name and date on the bottom and then handed it to nyla "here" he said with a warm smile
"Really?" She asked with a big smile
He nodded and beamed at her
She looked up and him and hugged him "thanks, jini" she said "I'm going to put it on my wall" she told him, stepping away. She went back to her room and stuck the painting on her wall above her bed, besides all the others pictures she had accumulated over the years, some with the members and others with Sakura, or Jungwon or Jun Han, and then others of views she had seen.
