If i had a part in Station 19

accidently comming out to grandmas

Next Episode follows right two days after

It starts with everyone coming to the station, they talk about the party and about their mornings. Andy is off

Then the klaxon is called.

They are on the rig Maya, Kathy Travis and Jack

Kathy is on the phone.

Kathy: in bayarian German Oma? Was is los? I bin auf Schicht, genauer gsagt aufm Weg zum Einsatz. Ko i di zruckruafa? Wos? Na. Oh Fuck . Duad mir so leid, Oma. Ja. I.... Oh

(translation: Grandma? Whats up? I am on shift, more specificly on the way to a call. Can i call you back? What? No?fuck Oh i'm so sorry, Grandma. Yes. I....Oh.)

Her voice breaks.

Oma, I wohn nimma bei meiner Mama.  Sie hod mich rausgschmissen...... Ja... Weil, weil... Oma i mog Mädls. Also i mog Mädls ned Buam....

(Translation: Grandma, I'm not living with my mum anymore. She kicked me out.... Yes.... Because... Because... Grandma I like girls, Like I like girls not boys....)

Ja... Oh.. Danke.. I hob di lieb... I ruaf di spada o... Servus...Ja..Servus.

(Translation: Yes. Oh. Thank you. I love you. I'll call you later.. Bye.. yes. bye)

She sighs loudly

Maya: What was that about?

Kathy: Oh its fine. Just my grandma.

Maya: Sounded rough.

Kathy: I'll deal with it later. (Takes a deap breath)

Maya: What ever it is, we are here for you.

Kathy gives her half a smile.

Scene 2

Kathy is with Travis because Andy is not there. The two of them are with Maya on search and rescue.

They evacuate, but when they reach on of the doors, they open it and because Kathy is up in her head, she doesn't react fast enough and the blast of some fire, ignited by the new oxygen coming in from the open door, pushes her away and down a few steps (like 5)

She immediatly gets up and seems fine, but Travis slightly yells at her for not paying attention.

They get all of the civillians out, but Travis has Kathy stay and help with triage.

Scene 3

They get back to the station.

Travis: Look i'm sorry, Kathy. I shouldn't have yelled at you. I shouldn't have. Just try to pay better attention next time.

Kathy nods: Can i have ten minutes before clean up.

Travis: We are just restocking, no clean up at this time. Go. If we aren't done when you come back, help us, but i think we can do it in less then ten.

Kathy nodds. You can see her botteling everything and breaking  the minute she feels like she is alone on the stairs, running up, almost running into Maya.

Maya: hey. Slow down.

Kathy crying silently: Sorry.

Maya: Hey, Hey hey whats wrong?

But Kathy just runs away into the bunks.

Maya is confused.

Jack: Have you seen Kathy? She seemed a little on edge, when Travis talked to her.

Maya: Yeah. Can you make sure, noone comes into the bunks in the next 15 Minutes. I'm going to go talk to her.

Jack: Sure.

Scene 4

Maya: Kathy? Kathy? Oh Kathy

Kathy lies on the bunk with her clothes on, only her shoes thrown of, shaking with sobbs.

Maya sits down next to her and rubs her back. Kathy starts to hypervertilate.

Maya: Kathy? Can you hear me? Can you sit up?

Kathy: Hee.. I... i... can't... its... I don't know...

Maya: Its okay. Its okay. Just breath Just breath

Maya takes Kathys Hands to her chest and overexagerates breathing and slowly Kathys breathing evens out.

Maya: Good. Good.

Kathy: Thank you. I'm sorry.

Maya: It's okay. I am here. What happend? The phone call?

Kathy crying slighly again: It was my grandma, My grandpa had a heartattack, he is dead. He is dead and i.. I am on the other side of the world.. I... I am...

Maya: Breath. Breath Come on. (Breaths with her)

Kathy: I accidently came out to my grandmother, too.

Maya: What?

Kathy: She said, she'd call my mom and tell her to give me a big hug and get flights for us to go... to.. (sobbing)

Maya: Hey.. And what did she say?

Kathy crying loudly: I said i had been kicked out and why and she was nice and she said she loved me. She got it, how can she get it and my mom doesn't. She is supposed to get it... She is supposed to love me. She did and now she doesn't and everyone, who loves my dies. I... everyone dies. I don't know...I..She is supposed to love me... He is dead...

Maya rubs her back and hold her Hands, important she doesn't hug her, she doesn't touch her right shoulder. Kathy sits next to Maya both looking into the room with their backs to the wall. Maya has her right hand on Kathys back and her left holding both Kathys hands.

Kathy kind of calms down

Kathy while getting up: I need to get a flight. I need to... I have to call my grandma back.. I...

Maya: Hey... Kathy.. Kathy Hey.. Stop sit down. Why don't you try and get some sleep? Text your grandma that you are safe, but you need time and try to sleep. You are exhausted.

Kathy sits back down crying. Maya now hugs her tighly and Kathy flinches.: Ahhh

Maya: Whats wrong?

Kathy: At the intervetion, i fell on my shoulder, it is a little sore.

Maya: A little?

Kathy: Yeah. No. it just wasn't priority.

Maya: Come lets get some ice and i'll check it out or we have Warren check it out.

Kathy nodds: Ice would be nice.

Scene 5

Kathy winces while taking her shirt off.

Maya looks hat her worriingly. She gets the ice and comes back to the table in the beanery.

Maya: Its already swolen and bruised, Can you move it?

Kathy moves it. Maya directs the Arm in directions. Kathy winces sometimes: I can but it hurts.

Maya: Its not dislocated and i don't think it is broken, but we have to keep an eye on it and if the swelling doesn't go down or the bruising gets worse, we'll take you to the ER.

Kathy: Oh..

Maya: Up until you can move it again without wincing. Desk duty.

Kathy sighs.

Maya: Keep the ice on and go to bed. You need it.

Kathy: Hey!

Maya: Was not ment to be offensive. Sorry.

Kathy smiles slightly. Still teary eyed

Maya smiles back at squeezes Kathys hand.
