A/N: Sorry for this author's note, it might be kinda long. I just wanted to thank you guys because I was expecting a lot of people to be mad at me for not updating, but I got so many supportive comments and that made me so fucking happy. Thank you all for being so understanding. I love you all.
I decided to do a double-ish update. This will be published before I go to bed at like 5am.

Also, the last chapter was filler-ish and I hope this one will be a bit better. Prepare for unbearable fluffy cuteness!

"You're cold," Ashton observed. I found it funny that he noticed my shivers and chattering teeth even before I did, but he pulled his sweater up over his head and handed it to me. "Take it."

"I'm fine, Ash, we're not walking too far."

"Please, just take it." He said. I did, and I found the oversized sweater warm, and I loved the way it smelled just like him, although I probably wouldn't have said that out loud. It's creepy.

The second we were in his car, the heater was on full blast. I thought about saying I was warm enough already, but then I remembered I was the one wearing his sweater. He was probably the cold one now.

We drove in silence for awhile before the sound of my own voice surprised me. I mean, I should have been mad that he had just punched someone who hadn't done anything wrong - to me anyway. I had to remind myself it was between Ashton and Michael. Not me.

"Where are we going?"

"Just driving, I guess." He admitted, turning the headlights to a brighter setting. Looking at the car clock, I saw it was almost 1am and I didn't have my phone. My mother was probably worried sick.

"I need to go home, Ash." I mumbled pushing a strand of hair out of my face before leaning on the car window.

"No you don't," He replied, his gaze staying fixed on the road. "I'll explain everything to your mom. She likes me, doesn't she?"

"Yeah. She let you stay for dinner the other night," I shrugged. Mom used to hate cooking for more people than she had to. She invited Ashton to stay, so I guess that was a good sign. "Ashton?"

"Hm?" He turned to look at me.

"Wh-What were the two words that Michael was talking about?" I had held the question off as long as possible, but my curiosity had gotten the best of me.

"Can we not talk about this right now?" He asked, sounding angry again. I nodded, gulping slightly, my throat seeming dry. "I just...I'll tell you some other time, Natalie. I promise."

I let my thoughts wander as I watched the boy in the driver's seat. I couldn't help but wonder what we really were..I mean, tonight he had refered to me as 'his girl' several times, but we'd only kissed twice.

"What are we?" I questioned aloud, not even sure if he had heard me when I got nothing but silence as a response.

"What do you want us to be?" Ashton finally answered. One of my pet peeves had always been when people answered my questions with questions. Smartasses.

"That's not what I asked." I grumbled, rolling my eyes.

"I know," He almost whispered, adjusting his grip on the steering wheel. "I just don't know how to answer. We're friends for sure, I think...I guess I'd like to think that you're mine, and I'm yours, but in a way I think it's more complex than that, you know?"

I shifted in the passenger seat, putting my feet on the dash board, and Ashton laughed.

"I'd love it if you were mine." He admitted. I couldn't help but blush, my heart skipping a beat.

"Well, how about this?" I thought for a moment, wondering if I was really willing to do this. "I will be yours. I'll be yours for however long you'll have me. Under one condition."

"And that is?" He questioned.

"That you'll be mine."

"Hmmm...You're asking a lot there, Natalie," Ashton tried to look as overdramatically thoughtful as possible and I rolled my eyes and nudged him. "Hey, I'm driving! And fine, fine. I'll be yours and you'll be mine."

The backroad we were on was practically abandoned at this time of night, but Ashton slowed down and pulled over to the side of the road, putting the car in park before unhooking his seatbelt and leaning towards me.

"And what do you think you're doing, Mr. Irwin?" I giggled.

"Well I was trying to kiss what's mine."

"I don't know what you're talking about. I am my own person." I crossed my arms over my chest like a child, playing stupid.

"Says the one wearing my sweater. I've marked my territory, babe, come here." I groaned, dramatically rolling my eyes before giving in, leaning forward and letting my lips meet his.

It was probably the greatest kiss we'd shared before, because it made us "official".

We pulled apart and I smiled, eyes fluttering over before I yawned, reaching up to rub at my eyes. I had to keep myself awake.

"Would you like to sleep?" Ashton asked me, to which I groggily nodded. He smiled before opening his car door, getting out, walking around to my side and opening mine.

"I'm not sleeping outside, asshole!" I laughed.

"No, no, of course not. We're going to cuddle and sleep in the backseat."

"Just cuddling. I refuse to agree to any backseat shenanigans." I spoke firmly. I wasn't the kind to have sex with someone within the first month of being in a relationship, let alone fifteen minutes.

"Then there will be no backseat shenanigans," He smiled as I got out of the passenger seat and climbed into the backseat, scooting all the way over and allowing Ashton to get in after me. He double checked that the doors were locked, then let me snuggle into his side as his arm wrapped around me.

"By the way," He spoke softly. "You said you'll keep me for as long as I keep you. I'm keeping you for a very, very, long time."

I smiled softly to myself, half awake, half asleep.

And I felt whole for the first time in a while.
