Elena, Duchess of Avondale (born Elena Isabella Marie Mendez; 10 February 1989) is a Brazilian-British member of the British Royal Family. She is married to Prince Albert, Duke of Avondale, eighth in the line of succession to the British throne.
Born to Victor and Gisele Mendez, Elena was born in Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital in London, England. She was educated at Berkswell Church of England Primary School and Twyford Church of England High School before studying Geography at The University of Edinburgh based in Edinburgh, Scotland where she met Prince Albert. They married on 15 June 2013 at St George's Chapel; she then became the Duchess of Avondale through her marriage to Prince Albert. The couple have four children: Charlene, Arthur, Adrienne, and Theo.
