The Revelations

"Where did you meet her?" humawak ako sa braso niya.

Matagal niya akong tiningnan. Hindi ako sinasagot.

"Magnus!" halos alugin ko ang braso niya.

"In your realm," tumingin siya sa mga mata ko.

"You've been in the Immortal Realm?" halos pandilatan ko siya ng mata.

How is that possible?

"Answer me!" hinawakan ko ang dalawang braso niya.

Inalis niya iyon saka tumalikod sa akin, "I need to go-"

Every vampire walking on the streets stopped. Everything's been frozen.

Aside from me and Magnus.

"So you've found him already, Iliana," and my father.

I bowed to him. Si Magnus ay hindi gumalaw.

"Where is the crest?" nagsalita ulit ang ama ko.

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty," I said, not raising my head.

There I saw him and Magnus looking at each other. My father on the other hand stared at him fiercely.

"I'm taking you back, Iliana," father said, ang tingin ay nakay Magnus pa rin.

I saw his fists clenched.

"My mission isn't done yet, father," mahinang sabi ko.

"This isn't your mission anymore. You're not staying here for the crest, but to find your mom's whereabouts," inilipat nya ang tingin sa akin, "You can't keep the throne waiting."

Umiwas ako ng tingin, "The throne isn't mine."

Hindi niya ako sinagot.

"You're never going back here again," agad siyang lumapit sa akin at mahigpit na hinawakan ang braso ko.

He froze Magnus before we left.

He can control time.

I looked at him one last time. I didn't even see his face fully, bigla na kaming napunta sa Heavenly Gate.

He stood there, nakatalikod sa akin.

"You're stubborn," bigla niyang sinabi.

Napatingin ako sa kaniya. His long white hair covered his back, malapit na iyon sa bewang niya.

"I wouldn't have done that if you told me why my mother got demoted," panimula ko, "and died miserably in the mortal world."

"Your mom made a sin. That concludes it, Iliana," humarap siya sa akin, "Being demoted into a mortal is much better than being killed."

Nainis ako, "You really didn't love her, huh? Hinayaan mo lang siyang magdusa mag-isa. You let her suffer."

Hindi nag-iba ang expression niya, "It's a choice between love and responsibility. I had to choose," tinitigan niya ako, "I hope when time comes, you'll understand why I made that choice."

Naglakad siya papasok ng Heavenly Gate. Hindi ako gumalaw o humakbang man lang.

Choosing your responsibilities doesn't mean letting the person you love suffer alone.
