“Man is not, by nature, deserving of all that he wants. When we think that we are automatically entitled to something, that is when we start walking all over others to get it.”
- Criss Jami

The day of the Sports Festival has arrived, and as we assembled on the ground, I can see numerous personnel setting everything up from tents, to water stations, and even a large inflatable infirmary that you often see from the military.

It's made obvious that accidents would occur and the school nurses are ready to treat an injury of any severity.

After Fujimaki-senpai and someone from Class 3-B made their speech as respective leaders of our own teams, the event for 100-meter dash started for both the boys and girls due to the huge, Olympic-like size of the oval track.

For the first group, I've put Yamada and Sonoda first, followed by Class C putting Beppu, and somehow, Ike and Yamauchi from Class D are in this one, and not Sudou like what I had expected.

In the end, Albert got first place. After that, Beppu got 2nd place, followed by Sonoda getting third. Sadly for Class D, Ike and Yamauchi got 7th and 8th place respectively.

For the girls, I've put Manabe and Morofuji at the first line since they're both fairly-average in speed. We did put them against Class D’s Onodera and Kushida.

Naturally, Onodera got first place followed by a Class C student, and then that is followed by Kushida with 3rd place. Manabe and Morofuji got 4th and 5th place respectively.

And now, for Group 2 for the boys. I can see Hirata, Kiyotaka, and Hashimoto in the same group as Komiya and Kondou. All while we were assembling as well for our 2nd Grouping.

I decided not to put Ibuki against Horikita for now and focused on getting our point advantage. Of course, that puts the two of us against Kamuro from Class B and Ichinose from Class C.

“Heya, Shirayuki-san! Let's have a fun race.” Ichinose greeted me as I smiled at her and responded back.

“Hello, Honami-san. My sentiment is the same.” I greeted her back as I turned my attention to Kamuro.

“Is Arisu-chan going to check up on my performance?” I asked as Kamuro responded with indifference.

“Interpret it the way you want, Nakaizumi-san.” she responded.

“Oh well, suit yourself. I guess I'll go for 9.5.” I shrugged as I smirked and added in declaration.

“9.5?” Ichinose asked as I shrugged again and declared once again.

“Just remember to run like hell.” I declared, which shocked both Ichinose and Kamuro before our group started our positions.

I deeply inhaled for a few moments to focus my mind on my body as I got ready for us to start running.

And then…

*BAM*

The shot sounded through our ears as my right foot pushed the ground underneath it in a powerful manner which cleared me out of our starting position in just a few tenths of a second before dashing through my lane as fast as I allowed myself to show.

Of course, this allowed me to have a huge lead against Ichinose and others. After I passed through the finish line, I immediately skidded my running shoes sideways to stop myself from letting my momentum get the best of me.

At the same time, Ichinose and others arrived at the finish line while panting.

“Y-You're quite f-fast, Shirayuki-san! You ran like thunder earlier!” Ichinose commented, while I saw Kamuro’s inquisitive eyes focused on me.
