Elijah's POV:

Guadalupe and I went to the grocery store to get some stuff for a small gathering with her parents and siblings at our house. When we finished, we went to Fiona's line.

"What's going on in the Gallagher household, dear sister of mine?" I asked Fiona.

"The city is turning the water off and I left Frank in charge of looking for Aunt Ginger. Mandy's brother thinks that he's a girl, but Mandy and Lip are too busy to playing house to find someone to take him in. And before I forget, Jimmy's dad tried to sleep with Ian but got in wrong bed and Jimmy is taking it pretty messed up about it," Fiona ranted.

"Ok, I know that you and Jimmy are in a serious relationship, but no more strangers in the house because we have three kids in the house to think about. Plus, this looks like this is his first familial crisis that he's facing, let him vent a little and listen to him, considering that he puts up with a bunch of our crap and doesn't complain about it. In regard to Mandy and her brother/sister, you can kick them out because obviously Lip won't kick her out and if he gets pissed because of it, let him stay pissed. And lastly, I can't believe that you left Frank to go look for Aunt Ginger," I said.

"It's Frank's problem, let him deal with it," Fiona said.

"Well, knowing Frank's history of actually doing things when he's told to, historically speaking he doesn't happen," I say.

"I don't want to go to jail for accessory to know where Aunt Ginger was," Fiona tells me.

"And when has genuinely shown that he has cared for any one of you?" Lupe asked.

"She has a point," I said.

"He has no choice," Fiona tells us.

"Whatever ends up happening, I don't want to get involved and I don't call my wife to try to convince me to do so," I say before leaving.

During the gathering, Kevin and Lip came over.

"What's up with you and Mandy?" I asked.

"He just realized that they're unofficially married, due to her being clingy," Kevin said, while laughing.

"It's annoying," Lip said.

"Well, you did convince her to bring her brother/sister here to be with her family. That means a lot to a girl," I said.

"That's what Fiona said," Lip muttered.

"And what do you find annoying about Mandy being's clingy?" I asked.

"She always wants to be with me," Lip says.

"You were like that with Karen, until it was revealed that she was pregnant with another dude's baby and she ended up taking off because her mom chose her grandson over her," I pointed out.

"She really messed you up," Kevin tells him.

"I just think that you quickly jumped into a relationship with Mandy," I said.

"No, I didn't," Lip denied.

"Karen did you dirty and you didn't give yourself time to process it. Because of that, it's going end up hurting Mandy in the process," I said and Kevin agreed.

"I'm not going to hurt her. I care about her," Lip said.

"Lip, you're a Gallagher. We're our own worst enemies and our biggest demons, that's not going to end for as long we live. The hardest thing is figuring out what triggers you. I got lucky with that woman. She puts up with my shit. You're young, you're still figuring out what the hell you want. Screw up, but don't screw up to the point that you're hurting other people," I say.

A couple days later, Lupe and I bumped into Jimmy. By the looks of it, he looks drunk.

"You're not driving, right?" I asked.

"No. I'm just trying to blow off some steam," Jimmy said.

"Does this have to do with Ian and your dad?" Lupe asked.

"Of course you know," Jimmy muttered.

"She's my wife, of course I told her," I said.

"It's a lot for me to process and I want to decompress with my girlfriend, but we got into a who's had a worse life competition," Jimmy said.

"She cares. It's just that she's trying to not to go to jail and she's stressing out with city digging into the backyard and find Aunt Ginger," I say.

"Why is everyone defending her?" Jimmy asked.

"We're not and she's not trying to say what you are going through isn't as important. But you have to realize that Frank's screw up might get her arrested and have the kids taken away from her," Lupe said.

———

Later on that day, I received a call from my sister.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"The kids got taken away," she answered.

"What? When?" I asked.

"Just now," she answered.

"I'm on my way," I tell my sister before hanging up.

"What happened?" Lupe asked.

"The kids got taken from DFS," I answered.
