Chapter Ten- Wishes and More

Selena P.O.V.

Glancing around at the decorations, party supplies, and food, I must say Ash, Nessa and I did a wonderful job. Since Jake was the captain of his school's football team, we completely over did ourselves using that theme. Everything around the house was now completely green and blue and all that was missing was the birthday boy himself. Justin had him and Max over last night, in order to give the girls and I time to prepare all of this for him. And well with Max...things still aren't as well as I would like them to be since the whole Parent Teacher Conference.

"Mommy!! Daddy's coming!! Its time to hide!!" My little princess toddles in squealing excitedly like she was instructed to do. Nessa, Ash and I directed all of Jake's friends to the back yard where I had a make-shift football field set up for most of the boys.

"Now Elle you have to be quiet okay baby?" I whispered into her ears after picking her up in my arms, and she nods obediently.

Nessa stood behind the door Jake would be walking in, and was giving everyone a countdown using her hands as signals since she could have seen when he was walking in. After 1, Jake walked in looking puzzled as ever, and everyone instantly screamed 'SURPRISE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKE!!' and he almost about fell off his heel in shock. I can't help but laugh at his facial expression which resembles someone about to cry. I walk up to him and place a light kiss on his head, and wish him Happy Birthday. Elle imitates my actions which causes Jake to laugh and give her a kiss on the cheek before thanking both of us.

"I can't believe you did all this mom. I told you all I wanted was the new XBox game."

"Ha! I knew I couldn't go wrong with this." Justin grins as he walks up behind me and passes Jake a rather large box, with what I would assume is the Xbox Game.

Jake grins excitedly and gives his dad a huge hug "You guys are the best! I'm gonna go get the rest of the guys so we can play this outside." he added before running of in the direction of the make-shift field.

Turning behind me to take in Justin's appearance I plaster on a fake smile as he coos Elle into his arms and smothers her with kisses, telling her how he missed her with him last night. As if I would ever let my little girl sleep over at his place with that bitch still lurking around the house.

"Mommy can I sleep over at daddy's tonight?"

"Daddy is Barbara going to be there tonight?" I asked Justin, mimicking Elle's baby voice.

And as if on cue Barbara walks up behind Justin and wraps her arms around his neck and almost hitting Elle in the face might I add.

"Of course, I'm going to be there Selena, just because Justin and I have called off the engagement in the meantime does not mean that I'm automatically out of his life." she smirks and God help me, because this witch is getting on my last nerves at the moment. I need to get myself out of this situation, and I could tell too that Justin is a bit uncomfortable as well because he then said.

"Hey B, can you give Sel and I a minute alone please?" Justin interrupts as he puts Elle down and tells her that Max is looking for her inside.

She looks surprise at his requests but scoffs as she walks away from us and towards the juice bar.

"Listen Sel, I hate the fact that you think you can't trust me to keep my own daughter safe when she's home with me just because of a one time accident. I promise you I never let her out of my sight when she is with me."

I sigh and start walking back towards the house to see if Nessa and Ash are done icing the cake. However Justin follows me and before I could make it to the kitchen he pulls my arm and pushes me in storage room.
