Chapter Twenty Six - Paris

Paris was a sight to behold at night. Its vast array of twinkling lights, had me in awe. There is the hustle and bustle of many Parisians heading home from work, while others head out for the evening in restaurants, bistros or clubs, yet others make their stately way to theaters and revue bars.

This reminds me...we still haven't eaten.

I look to the back of the taxi at my three sleeping angels and release a sigh of relief. I guess we'll just have to eat at the hotel.

It was not easy getting them here at all. Naturally when they finally realize that their dad would not be accompanying us as plan, it was like freaking world war 2 all over again. Thankfully, Justin helped by promising them that he would take them on another trip when they got back. To be honest I don't know how I feel about Justin traveling with them all alone but I didn't say anything at the time. I just smiled thankfully since that seemed to subside at least two of them. Can you guess which one that didn't buy it? Yup, my handsomely smart 13 year old who throughout the flight here had the dirtiest scowl on his face. Also, it didn't make it any better when he noticed that....

"Hey babe. We're here." he ironically snap me out of my thoughts about him to signal that we had made it to the hotel.

Thats right. Dylan accepted my offer and decided to join us on our little family trip, and I was so grateful and happy that he was here. Elle and Max to some extent were happy to see him too, but Jake was not having it. He hasn't mutter not one word to Dylan ever since he joined us on the plane. I really hope he doesn't cause any trouble. Dylan is a nice guy and honestly it would mean the world to me if two of my favorite boys got along.

"Are you okay?" he probed me again, once he realize that I was still lost in my thoughts.

I smile absentmindedly and nod before going over to the back and taking a sleeping Elle in my arms, only to realize that both Max and Jake were now wide awake.

"Hey guys, can you please help out with-" before I had time finish they were already out the vehicle following the worker carrying our bags to the front desk. I sigh and and go to get the rest of the carry ons but Dylan beats me to it.

"I'll take the bags. And don't worry about the boys. They'll come around. Especially when the see what I have plan for all of us to do."

His enthusiasm is almost contagious.

After finally checking in and getting ourselves settle in the room, Dylan decides to try again with them.

"So boys how about we head down to the arcade down stairs and play some games after dinner?" he gave a friendly grin as he sat next to them on the sofa in the living room.

"There is an arcade here!!" Max shoots up excitedly but Jake soon gives him a weird look which causes him to sit down next to his brother in the same unimpressed manor as they look at the Pink Panther on TV.

"Max? Do you want to go?"

Max shakes his head after looking across at his brother.

"C'mon guys, be nice... its almost time for dinner."

"We're not hungry."

"Jake all you guys had was airplane food. That could not have filled you guys."

"Well surprise surprise, it did Mom. You guys can go I'll look after Elle and Max."

Wow. that was actually the most words he has spoken ever since we got in the plane. I let out a frustrated breathe and motion for Dylan to just leave them alone so that we could head downstairs for dinner.
