You were doing Hyunjin's hair and makeup for a show, absentmindedly sipping on the coffee he brought you. After five years as his makeup artist, the routine tasks had become second nature, and your mind wandered.
"Y/n?" Hyunjin's voice broke through your thoughts. You looked at him; he was staring at you again. He did that a lot.
"Hmm?" you asked, gently rubbing moisturizer into his skin.
"Let me take you out on a date," he said, his tone earnest.
You sighed. This again. "I already told you, Hyunjin. No."
He started pouting. "Why not?"
"It's the same reason as the last thousand times, Jinnie. I practically work for you," you said casually, continuing with his makeup.
"No, you work with me!" he countered, trying to change your mind.
"Well, then I live by the rule of 'don't fuck your coworkers.' That would make you my coworker, right?" you said amused.
"But I have a crush on you," he whined.
You sighed. You had a crush on him too, but you couldn't risk your job. JYP would fire you for sure, and then likely force him to break up with you. Not to mention what would happen if anyone ever saw you two together outside.
"Please," Hyunjin pleaded. "Just one date. If you don't like it, I won't bother you again."
You sighed, looking into his eyes. He'd been pleading with you to go out with him for about three years now, and you stayed strong, thinking he would eventually give up. But he never did. Chan, sitting next to you getting his hair done, chimed in.
"Hyunjin, she said no," Chan said, though his tone was more curious than dissuasive.
Maybe if you went out with him once, he would finally stop asking. "Fine," you said.
Chan and Hyunjin both looked at you in disbelief. "Really?" they asked simultaneously.
"One single date, Hyunjin," you said in a serious tone.
He started grinning like crazy, making your heart melt. "Finally!" he cheered. "We have a show tonight, but tomorrow we're free. I'll pick you up, okay?"
"Okay. Now stop smiling. I can't work like this," you said, unable to hide your own smile.

The next day, there was a knock on your door right at noon. You were more nervous than you thought you'd be. You'd worked together for so long that he was really important to you, and your little crush on him seemed stronger than ever. How had you resisted him all this time?
You opened the door to see a massive bouquet of roses, so large it completely hid Hyunjin's face. "Oh god, Hyunjin," you said, shocked as you took it from him. You didn't know flowers could be so heavy.
