You're the kind of person who thrives on responsibility. From day one, you've been the driving force behind your group, not just as a performer but as the one who keeps everything together. You write the songs, produce the tracks, and even help with choreography. It's your vision, your energy, that pushes the group forward, making sure every comeback is stronger than the last.
It's a lot to handle, but you love it. The long nights in the studio, the hours spent perfecting a single line of lyrics or tweaking a dance move until it feels just right—this is where you find your purpose. You've earned the respect of everyone around you, not just for your talent but for your work ethic. Your group members rely on you, and so does the company. It's clear to everyone that you're the glue that holds everything together.
But even someone as strong as you has their moments of weakness. And for you, those moments happen whenever you're with Seungmin.
It's something that's taken you by surprise, this softening that happens whenever he's around. You're used to being in charge, calling the shots, but with Seungmin, it's different. He has this way of making you feel like it's okay to let go, to let someone else take the reins for once.
Today is one of those days where everything feels like it's hanging by a thread. You've been juggling too many things—finalizing the latest track, coordinating choreography changes, and dealing with the endless demands from the company. You're exhausted, barely holding it together by the time you make it to Seungmin's dorm.
As soon as you walk through the door, Seungmin is there, his smile soft and welcoming, like he can see straight through your tough exterior to the exhaustion beneath.
"Rough day?" he asks, his voice gentle as he takes your bag from you, setting it aside.
You nod, feeling the weight of the day pressing down on you. "You could say that," you murmur, trying to keep your voice steady as you walk to the kitchen, Seungmin right behind you.
Without another word, Seungmin steps closer, his hands finding your waist as he effortlessly lifts you onto the counter. It's such a simple gesture, but it feels like the weight of the world is suddenly lighter.
"You're not doing anything tonight," he says firmly, brushing a stray strand of hair out of your face. "Just sit here and relax. I'll take care of dinner."
You open your mouth to protest, to insist that you can help, but the words die on your lips as you meet his gaze. There's something so reassuring in his eyes, a calm that you can't help but surrender to.
So you do. You let yourself sit there, watching as Seungmin moves around the kitchen, humming softly as he prepares dinner. For once, you're not the one in charge, not the one making sure everything is perfect. And it feels... nice. Really nice.
As you sit there, you absentmindedly pick up your phone, scrolling through notifications until you see a livestream pop up. It's Soojin, one of your group members, chatting with fans during some downtime. You click on it, curious, and the sound of her voice fills the quiet kitchen.
"Y/N is such a powerhouse," Soojin says, laughing softly as she answers a fan's question. "Seriously, you guys have no idea how much she does. She writes our songs, produces them, and even helps with choreography. I don't know how she manages to keep everything running so smoothly. She's like a one-woman army!"
You feel a rush of pride at her words, but there's something more, too—a pang of loneliness. As much as you love what you do, it can be overwhelming, carrying all that weight on your own.
"But," Soojin continues, her tone turning playful, "there's one person who can make her totally drop that 'boss' mode. You wouldn't believe it if you saw it, but Y/N turns into the cutest, softest version of herself when she's with Seungmin. It's like night and day! She's always so in control, but with him? She lets him take care of her, and it's honestly the sweetest thing."
You blink, surprised to hear Soojin talking about this side of you so openly. You've always tried to keep that part of your life private, the part where you're not the leader, the producer, the one holding everything together. But hearing Soojin talk about it, about how you let yourself be soft around Seungmin, it makes you realize that maybe it's okay. Maybe it's okay to need someone, to let someone else be strong for you.
Seungmin must have noticed the shift in your mood because he looks over his shoulder at you, concern flickering in his eyes. "Everything alright?"
You nod, a small smile tugging at your lips. "Yeah," you say softly, setting your phone down. "Just... thinking."
He finishes up the cooking and walks over to you, placing the plates on the counter beside you. He stands between your legs, his hands gently resting on your thighs as he looks up at you with that same comforting smile.
"You don't always have to be the strong one, you know," he says quietly, his voice filled with understanding. "It's okay to let someone else take care of things every once in a while."
You feel a lump form in your throat, the truth of his words hitting you harder than you expected. But instead of replying, you just reach out, pulling him into a hug, resting your head on his shoulder. He wraps his arms around you, holding you close, and for the first time in what feels like forever, you let yourself relax completely.
Maybe Soojin was right. Maybe you do get soft around Seungmin. But standing here in his arms, you realize that it's not a bad thing. In fact, it's exactly what you need. With him, you can let go of the weight of the world, even if just for a little while. And that's more than enough.
