Mia and Char arrived at Marjorie and Reeces. A few days ago, Mia and Reece both received messages from a group of friends from Uni. They didn't really stay in contact in terms of talking regularly, but whenever they were all in town, they would normally go for a night out and a catch-up. These nights out over the years had ended up resulting in a lot of different women going home with Mia and Reece. The women in the group never understood the dynamic of their relationship. The men just thought Reece was the luckiest man in the world.

A lot had happened since their last night out nearly a year ago. Reece and Mia had split up, Reece was engaged with twins on the way, and Mia was also committed to Char. All things none of them would've expected. After knowing Mia and Reece together for nearly 20 years and there never having been a proposal or babies, everyone figured they were just all about the fun and would both never settle down properly, even though they had been together forever. They were going to be in for a shock tonight.

Char was going to drop the pair off in town and then spend the evening with Marjorie. Mia and Reece would get a taxi back, and Mia and Char would stay at Reece and Marjories to make it easier. Marjorie ended up going with them as her and Char decided to pick up some food on the way back for their night in. Mia had sat in the passenger seat while Marjorie and Reece had sat in the back. When Charlotte parked up, the other 3 got out, Mia and Reece to go enjoy their night, and Marjorie moved to the front seat.

Just as the couples were saying their goodbyes, a group approached.

"Oh wow, all the threesomes not enough, you in a foursome now?" The comment was met by laughter from the group as Reece and Mia both groaned. They knew that voice was Elliot. He was always the most vocal about their untraditional setup. In reality, he was jealous that Reece had all the fun while in his mind his wife was 'boring'.

Mia plastered a smile on her face, looking over at the group. "Elliot! I'd say it was a pleasure, but we both know I'd be lying." The group laughed. "FYI, Reecey and I aren't together anymore and haven't been for a while. This gorgeous lady is my girlfriend Charlotte, and over there is Reeces fiancé Marjorie."

The laughter stopped. "Fiancé?" Elliot asks, sounding confused. "That can't be right, we all knew Reece would never get married."

"Well, he is. They've got twins on the way, too." Mia replied, a smug grin on her face at the fact she'd shut him up. Or so she thought.

"Oh, is that why you're engaged, mate? Get her up the duff?"

Charlotte butted in at this point. "They were engaged months before Marjorie got pregnant."

A lot of the group looked confused. Elliot once again took the lead. "Months? Wait, it's less than a year since we've all seen each other, and in that time, you've split up, both found new relationships, and Reece is engaged with 2 babies on the way amd has been engaged for months?"

"Pretty much, yea." Reece said. "Why? Has your year not been as eventful?" He asked with a smirk. He turned back to Marjorie. "Right gorgeous, you two have a good night. I'll see you later." He bent down to gently kiss her belly twice before placing a hand on her cheek and kissing her goodbye. Mia leant through the car window and kissed Char before they walk off with the group. Elliot still stunned into silence.

The group started out in a bar, enjoying drinks and playing pool. They all caught up on each others lives. There had been weddings, babies, new jobs, new cars, nice holidays. Everything you'd expect, although Reece and Mia definitely held the mantle for most eventful year, especially if you added in Roger to the equation.

Reece and Mia both had quite a high tolerance to alcohol, but as he looked over at his friend, Reece could tell Mia was getting drunk. The start of Mias drunken nights were always the same. She got even more confident than usual, which was impressive as she was never a wallflower. The more drinks she had then the more uninhibited she would become... Again, it was impressive to anyone who knew Mia sober.
