Nursery Night Out - The Build Up

Between children, Reece and Autumn trying to finalise plans for the new nursery building, and Siobhan and Vivian slowly starting their relationship they hadn't had a big night out in a long time. Everyone felt they needed to let off some steam so it was decided that a night out was what was called for so that everyone could do that and have some fun, and also to finally celebrate Marjorie now officially being on the board of directors for the nursery.

As long as there was wine, Autumn was in, and Winter would go along with whatever she wanted. Sorscha had spoken to her mum about babysitting Quinn, so not only could she go, but Clodagh could as well. Mia and Charlotte agreed that as long as it was planned for a time when Charlottes girls were with their dad for a few days, they would be there. Siobhan was excited for her first proper night out with everybody and her first big night out since everything with Roger. She was even more excited at the fact that Viv would be coming along as well. Although they'd had dinners with their friends since they started dating, this was the first time they would all be together out in public since the relationship started. Viv was going to arrange for Jamie to go over to Stephens' house for a sleepover with Raymond so that she could accompany her girlfriend. Marjorie and Reece were the hardest to convince, as surprising as some found that. Marjorie would normally be the first to jump at the chance to go out for drinks, but she still hadn't actually drank since the twins were born 6 months ago. They also didn't have family to call on to babysit, and most of their friends were going out too, so it left them in need of a babysitter. After eavesdropping on a conversation where Marjorie was explaining to Autumn that either one or both her and Reece probably wouldn't be able to go out, Carly swooped in to save the day by volunteering. She thought her work parents deserved the night out, and if she was being completely honest, any opportunity to spend time with the twins was one she would take advantage of. She loved those two with all her heart, and they both adored her as well, as witnessed during all the times she'd stayed over at Marjorie and Reeces since they'd been born.

The night came, and everyone was getting ready. Carly arrived early. She left the couple downstairs and explained she was just going to take her bag up to her room. While she was up there, she crept into Marjorie and Reeces bedroom. She'd brought a spare overnight bag rolled up within her own and was carefully packing a change of clothes for the couple into it, nothing fancy, just jeans, t-shirts and hoodies, along with some essential toiletries. She was just finishing up when she heard a voice behind her.

"Carly, what are you doing?" She turned to see Marjorie and Reece, each holding a baby in the doorway. She stumbled over her words as she tried to find an excuse.

"I, um... Well, I was just.... um...."

"What are you doing with our stuff, my love?" Marjorie asked, walking over.

"OK, so I wasn't going to tell you until you were leaving, but I've booked the two of you into a hotel tonight, so you haven't got to come all the way back here. That way you can really let your hair down because you won't need to worry about waking the twins up when you come home and you can have a proper night off and I'm here anyway and can stay as long as I need to tomorrow so I thought you could go and have breakfast or maybe spend the day together just the two of you because between work and the twins I doubt you two have done that and I wanted to make sure my work parents were still good...." She spoke at 90 miles a minute before starting to slow down as she reached the end and realised she was about to start repeating herself. As she stopped speaking, she grabbed her phone and sent them the booking confirmation for the room.

The couple looked at the booking, it wasn't a cheap hotel and it she'd booked a nice room in it as well.

"Carly, you really didn't have to do this." Reece said, smiling at her while still looking shocked.

"I know, but I wanted you two to have some time, I'll take all the time I can get with the twins and I really don't need myself, or them being woken up by you two coming home drunk at ridiculous o'clock in the morning or by anything you get up to afterwards." She pulled a face at the end of her last sentence as Marjorie and Reece went slightly red.

"My love, we appreciate the thought, but you really didn't have to go spending your money on this." Marjorie said, walking over and placing an arm around her shoulder. "How did you even afford it?"

"Oh, I didn't. I borrowed Reeces' credit card and put it on that."

Marjorie laughed as Reece rolled his eyes and tried to look annoyed. He couldn't, really, though. Even though he'd paid for it, he couldn't deny it was sweet of Carly to go to all that trouble for them. The thought was there, at least. Marjorie hugged her with her free arm before Carly took Amy off of her and went back downstairs with Reece so Marjorie could get ready.

"Carly, how did you get hold of my credit card?" Reece asked.

"You know when you didn't have cash for lunch last week and you told me to take your card? I booked it then on the walk to the shop."

Reece shook his head. He did have to admit, that was probably his own fault, so he couldn't be too mad at her. After letting Marjorie have a head start on getting ready, Reece went back upstairs to shower and change himself. As he walked into the room, his eyes couldn't help but lock onto Marjorie, standing in front of the mirror drying her hair from the shower. She'd already got dressed, and Reeces jaw nearly hit the floor. Marjorie was still not entirely comfortable or confident in her post birth body, but in Reeces's eyes, she was just as sexy as she had always been. She could see his reflection in the mirror as he looked her up and down with a slightly slack jawed look on his face. He thought she looked stunning, even without her hair and makeup done yet. She was wearing a short black dress, showing off the one part of her body she didn't currently hate, her legs. The skirt on it was slightly floaty from the waist, so it covered what she considered her baby belly, which in Reeces eyes was non-existent and had black lace detailed long sleeves, the neckline showing just enough cleavage that Reece couldn't tear his eyes away but that still left just enough to the imagination.

"Pick your jaw up, darling. I don't need to have to clean the bedroom carpet of your drool before we leave."

Reeces mind came back into the room at her comment. "What?"

"You're staring my love."

Reece walked over and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Can you blame me? Look at you! You look incredible. I'm going to have to make sure I've got my eyes on every man there tonight to make sure they aren't checking you out." He pulled her hair away from her neck and started planting kisses there. "Or... We could say we're sick and just go straight to the hotel? Seeing as I've already paid for it, apparently."

She flicked her arm backwards to hit his arm. "Stop it! They'd know we were lying anyway when Carly tells tham about babysitting. Can you do the zip up at the back, please, my love?"

"How about we leave," Reece continued, still kissing her neck between words, his hands exploring her body and purposely not pulling up the zip. "And, oh no! The car breaks down on the way, and we get stuck. Conveniently at the hotel, Carly booked?"

"We're going! Get ready."

He groaned as she slid herself out of his hold to carry on getting ready and turned so he could do up her dress before taking himself off for a shower and a cold one at that.
