"nova!!!"
the said girl flinched at the shout and held up her arms to block herself off from hinata's form, who was running towards her with a beaming smile on his face.
"not so fast."
tsukishima's flat tone floated to her ears, and nova slowly opened her eyes and lowered her arms to be faced with his slim figure placed directly in front of her.

hinata: 0
"did you really think she was going to let you hug her anyway?" tsukishima asked, a touch of bitterness in his tone as he stared down at hinata.
"um, yeah... i tried that earlier too, hinata... it didn't end well," yamaguchi added with a sheepish laugh, bringing up a hand to rub his head. nova flashed back to when she had met him and tsukishima at the gate of her home that morning as usual for school and he had almost started crying when he saw her. the look tsukishima shot him stopped him, and they didn't talk about it after that. (yamaguchi was pretty upset when he found out that tsukishima had, in fact, not said hi for him when he went to nova's house.)
in the present, hinata visibly deflated with a sad pout and lowered his arms to rest by his sides. "who doesn't like hugs?"
nova peeked out from behind tsukishima's tall form, blinking bright blue eyes at him. "me."
hinata immediately brightened up and leaned towards her. tsukishima's hand shot out to stop him but he ignored it in favor of staring at nova like he hadn't seen her in years instead of one week. at least he stopped trying to hug her.
"i'm so glad you're okay! we all thought you were dead, shimizu-senpai basically told us that you were..."
hinata's loud shout of her name before had drawn everyone's attention to the four teenagers standing near the gym entrance, and they took hinata's rambling as a sign for them all to start adding their own thoughts.
"shimizu literally said you were dead."
"she didn't. hinata's just an idiot."
"our second goddess has finally returned, noya!"
"i know, ryu! our prayers have been answered!"
nova was becoming overwhelmed by all of the voices and people surrounding her and brought up her hands to cover her ears. tsukishima started to turn towards her as she began to inch backward towards the gym entrance when one commanding voice rose above the rest.
"okay, everyone, quiet down." it was sawamura, so of course everyone immediately shut up.
"i know we're all excited to see that miako is back, but we should try to be calmer about it." he sent tanaka, nishinoya, and hinata, especially stern looks. the former pair looked in opposite directions with nonchalant expressions while hinata just blinked back at him with an innocent look.
