The fingers of destiny inscribe your name across the heavens,
and this, too, shall be a supplication among the prayers of longing

“No!”

“No!”

“No!”

“Abbu.”

"No!" She shouted while waking up from another nightmare of seeing her father's coffin. Her head was throbbing with pain and body was getting sweaty in the chilly winds of December. She looked around and tried to get familiar with her surroundings, thinking, it6s her room, she's in her room, in her home, everything is alright.

"Ya Allāh ﷻ please help me." A tear rolled down her cheeks and she got up from her bad hearing the peaceful calling of Fajr Adhan. She rushed towards the bathroom to make Wudhu and prayed salah.

After praying her salah, she sat on the prayer mat and then went into the position of prostration. She stayed in that position till her heart was filled with hope and strength to live another day and fight for her survival.

"Afreen are you awake?" Her mother called her. She quickly got up from the prayer mat, wiping her face with the back of her hand.

"Ji Ammi." She answered her and quickly went into the bathroom to take a shower.

After taking a bath she went downstairs to check upon her mother who was now watering the plants in their little veranda.

"Ammi is everything okay?" Afreen went towards her and gave her a side hug.

"Yepp everything is okay but why are you asking this?" She asked her raising an eyebrow.

"Ammi you don't like to talk after fajr yet ask me if I'm awake or not?" Afreen furrowed her eyebrows and looked perplexed.

"Yes i want to inform you that Shaaz is coming today." Her mother looked at her face which was showing no emotions.

"And may ask why?" Afreen couldn't understand why he was coming back after all these years.

"You know he's your husband and...."

"Husband who doesn't bother to check if I'm alive or not, right?"

"Afreen you're not understanding bacche..."

"I am not understanding what ammi? Like seriously after knowing everything you still hope or you think that i will accept him?" Afreen raised her eyebrows in questions and this time her mask cracked, tears made her way down her beautiful face.

"Ammi! If he's coming here good for him but don't expect me to do anything else." She raised her tone in front of her mother and then walked out of the scene.
