Two months passed since I had seen Weston; every second was agony and a constant battle but it would all come to an end soon. There was only a day until we left for the Social in celebration of the new high ranks. This year it was being held by Alpha Ryse in Maine. I was excited to see Alpha Ryse again, he had been very close with my father and helped me learn to fight but I dreaded seeing Weston again – not knowing if I was strong enough for it.

"Morning!" Kyle sang as he skipped into the kitchen.

He was glowing today and looked like he had slept with a hanger in his mouth. Finishing making the bacon, I studied him – searching for a reason for his happiness. As my eyes scanned his neck, I saw his mark and gasped. He had been waiting patiently for his mate to be ready for them to take the next step and it appeared to have come. It was so good to finally see her mark on him.

"Is that a mark I see on your neck?"

Kyle smirked and pulled back the collar of his shirt with pride. "It most definitely is!"

"Congrats man!" Pulling him into a hug, my smile brightened, "I'm so happy for you."

"I'm the luckiest man in the world." He touched his mark with so much love it made me hurt.

"How is she this morning?"

"Just as happy as I am and really hungry. I'm going to bring her food in bed."

Chuckling, I handed him two plates. "Help yourself."

Eagerly, he filled the two plates and sprinted back to his room. Becca stumbled in as he passed her in the doorway. She rubbed her eyes sleepily.

"Where is he headed in such a hurry?"

"Lizzy marked him last night."

Her eyes widened and she jumped up and down in excitement. "Finally!"

Nick slumped down the steps and pulled Becca to his chest. "Good for them." He kissed her cheek. "You ladies all packed?"

"Yes." Becca cuddled in closer to him. "Lizzy, Tee and I got our dresses last night and I packed your tux. What time do we leave?"

He made a plate of food. "A little before noon if we want to catch our plain." He handed the plate to her. "I need to go speak with the guard but I'll be back for lunch."

She nodded and kissed his nose. "I'll be right here."

"I love you."

"I love you too now go get some work done."

He nodded and skipped out of the house. Once the coast was clear, Becca looked at me desperately.

"I need you to get me a pregnancy test. Town is outside the borders and he won't let me go off the land. Please."

"Really?" I could feel my face light up with excitement for the first time in months.

She blushed and touched her belly. "I hope so. He wants to be a father so bad."

"I'll leave now. It's an hour run, I'll be back before lunch."

Her smile brightened. "Thank you so much!"

Kissing her cheek, I ran out the door, snatching up my bag as I went. When I came to the tree line, I stripped off my clothes and shoved them in my bag with my wallet and water. Making sure everything was zipped up, I exploded into my wolf and sprinted for town. When I was about a mile away, I shifted back and pulled on my clothes. Before I got my shirt on, a smell hit me and I was instantly intrigued. It almost smelt like Weston but it wasn't as appealing as his scent. Sniffing the air, I pulled on my shorts and sports bra before looking for the owner of the smell. Maybe Weston had been here, had tried to hide his scent?
