chapter seventeen

Madi POV

Weeks pass, but I hardly notice. I spend every waking moment with Blake by my side, and go to sleep with him in my arms. Call me crazy but I have to admit. It was great. Having a mate was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Blake and I hadn't completed the mating bond, but we've gotten extremely close. An innocent make out section could turn into a full out domination battle.

Yeah. Things got pretty heated.

"Madi, did you hear me?" My eyes focus on Blake waving his hand in my face.

"No. Sorry I guess my attention was otherwise involved." I blush a deep crimson red. As if sensing my thoughts, Blake puts a seductive smile on his face and wiggles his eyebrows.

I stand up from the bar stool I'd been sitting on and stretched. "What were you saying?" I ask.

"I was asking if you wanted to meet the pack tomorrow. We should probably introduce the soon to be Luna to them, don't you think?"

I freeze, mid stretch. I'd been trying to avoid meeting the pack, not really sure if I wanted to go through the Pack experience again. It didn't turn out so great last time. "Um, I guess that's what a good Luna would do." I say nervously. I knew they knew I was here, so I suppose it was inevitable.

"There's no need to be scared babe, if I know my pack, which I do, they'll love you. I promise." He says sincerely.

"OK. Let's do it." I had no clue what I was getting into.

A few hours later, me and Blake moved from the kitchen to the Living room, watching movies, and back to the kitchen again.

"I want chicken Alfredo, with corn on the cob and a roll!" I shout out to Blake as he maneuvers through the kitchen, getting the correct ingredients for meal I wanted. I giggled as he ran into the open refrigerator door. As he lays on the floor groaning I look over the counter at him.

"Quit slacking off and give me my meal!" I tease him.

"Has anyone ever told you that you can be a pain in the a-" he cuts off mid sentence when I give him a glare so evil it could have been from hell.

"I will count to three, and when I reach it you'd better have my noodles in a pot and my chicken cooking!" I shout again.

"Yes ma'am!" He shouts back and laughs.

I hear the front door open and I shrug it off, thinking Blake's parents are home, but a new scent hits me and I turn around to find two strangers looking right back at me.

"Sounds like she's got you wrapped around her little finger Blake." The male says, chuckling.

I start to turn back around to give a questioning look at Blake, when he comes up and hugs my torso. "I wouldn't have it any other way, Jake." Blake replies.

Who are these people Blake? I thought I was meeting the pack tomorrow. I ask him through our bond.

You are. Jake doesn't know how to listen. Sorry babe

"Madi, this is Jake, my best friend and beta to be, and his mate Vanessa." Jake comes up and shakes my hand, but Vanessa gives me a big hug.

"Hi. I'm Vanessa and we are so going to literally best friends. You don't even get a choice." Vanessa says cheerfully. A best friend? I muse, smiling.

"I'm Madi, and we are so going to be best friends." I reply, equally cheerful. Blake's eyebrow raise, but I can tell he's happy that I'm getting along.

"So now that we have introductions out of the way, when are you guys moving into the pack house? You can't live with mommy and daddy forever blakeypoo." Jake teases my mate. I like him instantly.

"We were gonna move in after Madi meets the pack tomorrow." He replies, walking back into the kitchen to stir the noodles.

Jake begins to open his mouth but Vanessa cuts him off, giving me a grin. "Well it was fun, but were gonna head back. It was nice to meat you Madi. See you soon!" And with that she pulls her mate's arm and drags him out the door.

I like her.

Blake POV

Later that night, Madi and I lay in bed, snuggled close, her playing with my hair. I loved when she did that. "Blake," Madi whispered.

"Yes sweetheart?"

"Your purring." She smirks.

"I don't purr madi, I rumble." I say and rumble deep in my chest.

"I'm pretty sure its purring." She giggles.

"Madi, your so beautiful. I'm so lucky to have you." I say with adoration in my eyes.

"Blake?" Madi whispers again.

"Madi, you don't have to whisper, my parents aren't home. They're at an important leader meeting in Detroit."

"I know. I'm just nervous."

"Why. What's the matter?" My guard immediately going up

"Nothing. I just- I think I'm ready." She whispers again. Blush blooms over her cheeks.

"Ready for what, madi?" I ask confused. She lifts her head in the air and kisses me softly.

"I'm ready to compete the mating bond." She says quietly.

"Are you sure?" I ask huskily.

"Yes Blake. I'm ready." Oh. Oh. Come on say something, you imbecile. I argue with myself.

"Blake? Stop arguing with yourself and kiss me." She says, breathless.

"Good idea." I lean down and kiss her forehead, her cheeks, her nose, and finally, her lips. She deepens the kiss, and I moan. I break the kiss and her face turns into a pout.

"Your sure. I don't want to rush you."

"Blake!" She shouts not whispering this time. "Yes. I'm ready!" And she plants her lips on mine once more.
