Case File Name:
Everything Shifted.

Chapter Ninety-Eight

I hummed to myself as I ran my fingers through my wavy dark hair that framed my face covered in light makeup.

And considering what today's plans consist of, I opted for a smooth black tank top and matching leggings.

Even if I didn't have anything close to a bump yet.

It had only been a month since we found out and all I feel is fat.

And like I want to stay home.

But working genuinely helps keep me busy—even if Tazmin insists nearly three times a day that I should be at home resting.

But I'm not even showing yet, so I'll be working while I can at least move around.

A smile suddenly grew on my lips as soon as my wife entered the bathroom—wearing her usual oversized t-shirt and baggy jeans.

She wore her blonde hair down, framing her sharp glowy face that was slightly shielded by a black snapback that she wore forward.

"Beautiful," Tazmin murmured, softly kissing my lips before leaning down to briefly kiss my stomach.

"Thank you, baby," I whispered as she leaned back up, "You always look good so..." I trailed off with a growing smile, eyeing her appearance entirely.

Tazmin smiled down at me, "Only by your side," she countered, sliding her arms around my waist, "How are you feeling ? Do you still feel nauseous from earlier?"

I happily shook my head, "No, I feel much better now," I told her, excited that my morning sickness had faded.

"That's good baby," Tazmin said as she ran her hands up my back, gently drawing me in closer to her, "Maybe the doctor can give us some tips for morning sickness."

I hummed, "That would be great," I determined, already feeling excited for our first ultrasound appointment.

It's also a small check-up too.

But I'm just excited to see our baby for the first time.

"Our agent also sent over a house that just got put on the market," Tazmin told me, which immediately made a sigh fall from my lips.

"I wish we could just find one already," I mumbled, leaning into her chest and hugging her so close to me.

We've looked at around thirty houses in the past month, and not a single one felt like the right fit.

It's like each one would check off everything on our list, but then that one important thing would be missing.

"I know baby, but this one checks off location, it's a new build, and it's not too modern like you like it," Tazmin told me, gently running her hands up and down my back.

I let out a deeper sigh, "Okay," I whispered, leaning away from her chest, "Hopefully this can be the one."

Tazmin hummed, briefly glancing down to my lips, "It feels like it could be," she said, closing the gap between our faces and briefly kissing my lips.

"When are we meeting our agent?" I asked as we naturally pulled back from the brief kiss.

Tazmin kissed my cheek, "Around four today," she told me, which luckily didn't interfere with our appointment.

It's currently eleven now and our appointment isn't until one.

I hummed when Tazmin trailed kisses down from my cheek to my neck—gently tilting my head back for further access.
