WOW. So someone DMed me on Reddit and was like yo you gonna update the last part of the fourth light novel? And I was like... I FORGOT. Well. I translated it and left it here, I just forgot to press publish... After translating the chapter and the promo pages I finally got around to logging in on this account. It's been a while. I'M SO SORRY. I should do three days of odd jobs as punishment.

Here it is, the last part. Enjoy!

.  .  .

Three days of odd jobs. That was their punishment.

Waterproofing rooftops with tar, pulling weeds, and pruning the branches of the trees in the schoolyards were all things that would ordinarily be done by contracted workers, but perhaps this was a reasonable penalty for getting into a skirmish during the school trip.

"The only problem is that we have to do all this on days we were supposed to have off..."

Sarada was already in the schoolyard, searching the ground. Once she finished pulling every weed in sight, her punishment was over. Iwabe apparently had some sort of urgent business to take care of, and he couldn't make it out to help her. So in exchange, he spent all of yesterday cleaning up the garbage in the waterways around the school by himself.

"All this would be so much easier if I could just use wind style... But Boruto isn't good enough at it yet," sighed Sarada, feeling overwhelmed at the sheer size of the schoolyard.

Just then, a voice called from behind her. "Yo! Did I hear you say my name?"

She turned around to find Boruto behind her. He was walking slowly towards her with his hand raised in greeting.

"Good morning. It was nothing. I just thought this would go by faster if someone could use wind style to cut the grass."

"Cutting the grass with wind style would be pretty hard..."

And at that, Boruto began a surprisingly passionate explanation about the difficulty of pulling weeds using wind style. When removing weeds, you have to yank them out by the roots, and there's no point in simply cutting off the growing part. It was almost like he'd attempted it before.

"Hmm... Mama uses medical ninjutsu to kill the weeds, so we've never tried to do it like that."

"I have a feeling that there should be some way to do it with lightning style, but I haven't found out how... yet." Boruto folded his arms and narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.

Seeing him like this made Sarada feel that something was out of place. It wasn't like his current behavior wasn't completely out of the ordinary. In fact, according to her memory of how Boruto usually behaved, this was more accurate. Then what felt off..?

"...Hey Boruto, did you happen to get in touch with Kagura?"

"Huh?! How did you know!"

Sarada sighed. "It was easy to tell. Your expression has been pretty dark lately, and you constantly bring up Kagura-san in conversation."

As she pointed this out, Boruto's expression changed to be a bit embarrassed. "Oh. My bad."

"It feels uncomfortable when you react that honestly..."

Boruto explained that Kagura's letter arrived the day before. Kagura didn't seem to think that he could show his face to Boruto in his current state. He was ashamed of using his circumstances as an excuse to escape. But in the letter, he wrote that he was going to prove that he could change that part of himself. If he could change enough to officially inherit the blade Hiramekarei, then he'd ask to meet Boruto again.
