Chapter 18: The God of the Sea

Summary: You and Rafayel visit Linkon West Park to observe the black hole and finally get the chance to talk about his past.

Notes: Before you start, just want to drop a quick reminder that this story is not canon-compliant and the lores don't exactly follow the game! Right now, the original lores are incomplete and revealed in scattered pieces by the devs, so there's still a lot we don't know. Because of this, for the sake of this story, I have crafted up a separate lore. After all, we're here to read about Reader's relationships with the MLs and not re-read the game's story! :) Enjoy!

Chapter 18: The God of the Sea

You stumble out of the elevator red-faced and dizzy-headed. How can Rafayel so easily pretend like nothing just happened? What was he thinking, kissing you in the elevator like that?

Upon exiting the elevator, you spot Thomas seated at one of the chairs in the lobby and immediately, your shock fades away.

"Thomas!" you exclaim. "Are you okay?"

"Marin!" the brunet says as he gets up. "I'm okay, thanks for coming to visit!"

"That's a relief," you smile. "I was really worried when I saw you on the floor like that.."

"Crazy, huh? I didn't expect to get jumped by thugs like that. I'm glad those guys got what they deserved. Thanks for rescuing me and Rafayel! And thanks to those doctors that came to help as well."

You quickly recall that Rafayel said it was up to you to tell Thomas of your situation, and initially, you wanted to leave him out of it. However, with what little control you have over your Evol, it won't be long until Thomas gets a taste of it. You pray you don't accidentally make him float next.

"Once again, sorry for getting you into this mess.." Rafayel mutters.

"Hey, man. Why are you apologizing for getting kidnapped?" Thomas elbows him. "You weren't feeling well either! Is your Evol back?"

Rafayel opens his palm and a healthy flame dances around his fingers. "Yup."

Thomas lets out a long sigh. "You know what? Maybe this is a sign that we all need to take a good, long break. Now I have a legitimate excuse to take a few days off."

"Well, that won't matter to me. You promised to leave me alone anyway," Rafayel says smugly. "Remember our agreement?"

"Oh, right.. the Kylie agreement," Thomas says. "But the art collab—?"

"That's the exception," Rafayel says nonchalantly. "But if you contact me about any other work, I'll block you!"

"Hey!"

Soon, Thomas eventually sets off to go home and take his much-needed break. He still appears rather... shaken up. Meanwhile, you're aching to clarify some things with Rafayel.

"So does Thomas know about.. um, you being Lemurian?" you ask.

Rafayel nods his head. "He overheard Hian and the thugs talking about it, so I had no choice but to explain it to him. Besides, I feel really bad that he got injured because of my problems, so I felt like he should know. Especially since he's been working with me for so long."

"I see," you reply.

Suddenly, you hear thundering footsteps from Akso Hospital's entrance. A familiar bespectacled doctor runs into the lobby, whom you quickly recognize as Greyson. Your eyes widen when you realize that he's running towards you while holding a bouquet of pink roses. Those roses...

"Marin, wait–!" Greyson exclaims, out of breath.

"Doctor Greyson..?"

"I just came back from fetching Doctor Zayne's car at Whitesand Bay!" the brunet doctor wheezes. "I found this bouquet in his car and, uhhh... it's yours, right?"
