"Wow, that's one brave mermaid," said Carlos when Mal was done sharing Arabella's story with him, Evie, and Jay after they'd pulled Jay away from R.O.A.R. practice.

"Oh so Carlos didn't know before hand."

"I still want to know want to know what was said to Carlos." Sophia said.

They were sitting at a table in the refectory at Jay's insistence, since he didn't like to hear bad news on an empty stomach.

"Always a good idea to eat." Emir said, sending a pointed to Ben.

"I do eat." Ben said.

"Sure you do Ben."

"Just because I didn't eat something.... do you honestly think Mal would let me get away with that?"

"Good point Benny, good point."

"I would never even dream of touching my mom's furs, and she goes and steals King Triton's trident? That's insane."

Jay nodded, his mouth full of food. He swallowed loudly to the consternation of the girls.

"Yeah, I think Mal would have killed him if he did that."

"Please, it's Mal, she wouldn't care," Nico said to his boyfriend, their have actually met Mal back last July. And Nico is already protected of her and the rest of his Vk siblings.

"I don't mean to be rude, but why is this our problem exactly?" he asked.

"Arabella's a friend, and she came to us," said Mal defensively. "She didn't know who else to ask for help."

"You could have to came to us, Ara," Alana said. "What else are parents good for, or family for that matter."

"I know, I was just scared..." Arabella said, looking shameful.

"I get I was scared when I did some thing, but in the end it was silly to be afraid." Melody said, putting a hand on her cousin shoulder.

"You do realize that you didn't know Triton was our grandfather at the time right?"

"Yep, but that didn't change the fact that I was terrified when I did find that out."

"Uh-huh," said Jay. "Because she did something naughty, and we're from the Isle of the Lost. But the thing is, we have stuff to do in Auradon now."

"No, that's not it, I came to them because they are my friends and are the only ones that can help me." Arabella said, slowly and sadly.

Carlos slowly nodded his head. "Jay has a point. You have a packed royal schedule, Mal.

"Thanks for that Natalie." Ben muttered sarcastically, under his breath.

You don't really have time for something like this. Why does it have to be you—us— who have to look for this thing? We didn't steal it. Plus, don't forget, exams are coming up."

"Love how Carlos is more worried about Mal and her packed schedule than his schedule."

"Well, Carlos is her younger brother."

"And what about Ben? Doesn't this fall under his responsibility?" asked Jay.

Ben nodded, "It is."

"Ben's in Northern Wei negotiating some kind of truce between the Imperial City and Agrabah," said Mal. "I don't want to bother him with this."

"Mal, it doesn't matter, you can always 'bother' me." Ben muttered.
