it's a secret. until we figure it out. well... not a secret, just private, in better wording. all our families know, but not all friends do. we don't want to make it seem like a big deal, even though it is.
that night we stayed up till three just talking, making sure that we understood what it would be like getting back together. a week later she called me her girlfriend and that was that. she had the vase i bought her on the island, two of them that i saw.
we're taking it slow, or i suggested that. she is a mom, im trying to respect the space she needs. i don't want to overwhelm her more than she has to be. it also the best approach because i still have a couple shows to do, before tour ends.
whenever we see each other, its always at her house cause she's never been away from aly. it's nice, being at her safe place, her home. i'm so grateful she lets me in and welcomes me in there. she is comfortable, happy, and cozy. all we really do is cuddle and kiss after we talk some more. i make her dinner sometimes on days where aaliyah is being cranky and she doesn't have time to take care of herself.
"someone got some yesterday." laura jumped onto the green room couch.
"i didn't, im just happy." i shook my head.
"mmm okay." she smiled. "you're glowing, whatever is making you like this, i like it."
"i like it too." i smiled.
i blinked.
"are you happy?" she looked up at me, laying on my chest.
"yes i'm happy." i was surprised that was even a question. "from where is this coming from?"
"i don't know." she layed on her stomach and faced me. "like... well i mean— aaliyah." she said. "you didn't sign up to be premenatly around a baby. is that what you want? i want to know what you want."
"you are all i want, aaliyah is the sweetest little baby. i want this, i want the whole package i want to ride till the end. i love you, i am happy and i am content." i assured her. "are you happy?" i giggled.
"i am very happy." she smiled wide. "i just wanted to make sure that you weren't doing something that you didn't want to do."
i shook my head, "don't you worry about me." i told her. "you should come to my last show."
"i want to." she flattened her lips. "i just don't know if i can be away from aaliyah. i haven't done that before."
"that's okay, i understand." i softly smiled, cupped her cheek and rubbed my thumb on her cheek bones.
"im sorry." her face fell.
"don't be." i shook my head. "aaliyah is your priority, we talked about this. i understand."
"yeah?"
"yeah." i nodded.
i blinked.
"billie, you're up in ten."
"alright." i started my before show routine.
