Jeongin and Seungmin were finally up and ready for the day, with Seungmin in the kitchen, making something to eat, and Jeongin perched on the counter, scrolling mindlessly through his phone as he waited. The elder wasn't a perfect cook, but he at least knew the basic's, which Jeongin, however, did not, therefore, was trusted with the more hands on part, while the younger got the easier job; sitting there and looking pretty, which wasn't too hard for him, as Seungmin had said.
But eventually, Jeongin grew bored of the endless video's he could've scrolled through on TikTok and he hopped off the counter, gaining Seungmin's attention, who was currently trying not to burn the pork he was cook for the Korean BBQ pork bowl he was attempting. He glanced at his boyfriend as he slipped off the counter silently, and then disappeared out of view, behind him somewhere.
He immediately snapped his attention back to the pork, however, and worked on flipping them. "Innie, baby, where are you?" He called out, not taking his eyes off the pork, but received no response.
That was until he felt two pairs of hands wrap around him from behind and a head rest against his back. "Innie?" Seungmin receive a hum in response, clarifying that it was indeed his boyfriend. "You okay?"
Jeongin nodded his head against Seungmin's back, "Bored." He mumbled, lifting his head, only to rest it again, against Seungmin's shoulder this time, so he could see what the elder was doing.
"I'm almost finished here, baby, then we can eat, just a few more minutes." He said as he successfully flipped all the pieces of pork, finally allowing him some time to breathe, and think about what else he had to do.
The vegetables were already cut, the pork was cooking, and the rice was already steaming, thanks to thoughtful preparation, so now he just had to wait until the meat was almost cooked, to cut them into bite-sized pieces, then add the vegetables.
He sighed as he checked everything on his mental list off, and turned around to face the younger. He cupped the boy's cheeks, caressing them for a while, while gazing contently into the large, brown, caramel orbs of the boy he loved. Finally, he leaned in, stealing a loving kiss from him.
Their lips pressed together, moving at a comfortable and innocent pace, matching the atmosphere between the pair; slow and steady, strong yet so fragile.
Seungmin soon pulled away, leaving Jeongin to chase after his lips with a short whine and a pout, emitting a chuckle from the elder. However, the latter was quick to kiss the younger's pout away with a peck, smiling against each other's lips.
The pair grinned as they pulled away, resting their foreheads together, both closing their eyes to fully absorb the moment; peaceful and quiet, with no one but the person before themselves on their minds, heart, and soul.
"I love you." Seungmin was the first to break the silence, his voice a hushed, yet meaningful whisper. "So, so much." He added, although he knew no amount of words could ever sum up the intense emotions and feelings directed to the boy in his arms; his one and only, the flickering streetlight on a dark alleyway that Seungmin had found himself lost in, the streetlight that, although broken, lit up his path with his dimming light, a light Seungmin himself had unknowingly rekindled.
