Sophie's POV

I woke up drenched in sweat. Gross.

Exhausted by the restlessness that accompanied my sleep last night.

My mind was filled with thoughts of Theo and Bella.

Getting traumatized by the images of Mr Brian and Theo pushing me into the tree and Dorothy doesn't come.

It haunted my dreams.

I heard my phone going off.

I told Dad to go to your room FYI
I know you are awake.

Soon Dad came knocking on my door.

"Come in," I mumbled my face buried in my pillow.

The door creaked open.

"Did someone dunk water on you?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

Dang.

Was I that sweaty?

"It's sweat," I lifted my face from my pillow, "My sleep was like a rollercoaster."

"Been there," Dad said, sitting on the edge of my bed, "When Mr Brian was forcing me to labor away in that lab".

Mr Brian.

The name struck a chord within me.

Sending an unwanted shiver down my spine.

I felt gross because of all the sweat. I needed to take a shower but I needed to distract Dad.

"How are things with Mom going?" I'm a professional at asking questions now.

I deserve a degree in the art of questioning.

"Well, good, fantastic, great, amazing and super. Do you need more words?" He asked his familiar warm smile creeping onto his face.

"No," I couldn't help but laugh a little.

Dad pulled out his phone revealing an embarrassing picture of me with most of my teeth out. I was 5 back then.

"Wouldn't it be fun to post this all over social media?" He smirked.

"No," I rolled my eyes.

"But it's one of my proud Dad moments wait great caption my little Soph-Soph," His smirk turning into a grin.

"It's cringe," I could feel the smile creep onto my face.

"You were adorable," He remarked.

"I will throw a pillow at you," I picked up a pillow threatening to heave it at him.

"I'm so scared," My Dad said in a mock-laughter voice.

I couldn't help but laugh too.

These are the moments I treasured after we found him.

Dorothy's POV

Sophie guided Dad through the door and I flicked the light switch on.

"Welcome back!!!" Everyone shouted.

So yeah we invited everyone in town.

Maybe only the ones who were willing to come.

Upbeat music filled the room and before I knew it the party was in full swing.
