It had been days since Seungcheol brought Jisoo back to his mansion, rescuing her from his father's cruel plans.

But right after her return, he disappeared, leaving her alone in the vast, empty space.

She didn't know when—or if—he would come back, or why he left in the first place.

Was this all part of some twisted game? She couldn't even trust her own shadow in that place.

The days dragged by painfully slowly.

The morning after her arrival, she found a phone beside her bed with a note from Seungcheol: "Your phone was taken by the loan sharks, so I got you a new one. Use it to stay in touch with those you love."

Her eyes stung with tears as she read it, struggling to keep herself together.

Seungcheol seemed to have a good heart, but with a father like his, he probably didn't understand love or empathy.

She felt a pang of sympathy for him, but what could she do? She was still just a teenager, living her own life, with dreams and aspirations of her own.

It wouldn't be fair to sacrifice all of that to try to fix him or guide him back onto his path. It's her first time living too...

Days blurred into weeks, each one spent in solitude.

Although the maids came daily to tend to the mansion, each night found Jisoo standing alone in the empty space, left with nothing but her own thoughts.

Having a phone offered little comfort; she didn't know any numbers, and the one she did—Mingyu's—was disconnected.

Still, she kept trying, clinging to the faintest hope that he might answer, only to hear the voicemail message that shattered her spirits each time.

Her mind was plagued by the fear that Seungcheol had left to find her father, and this thought gnawed at her constantly.

Desperation drove her to plead with the bodyguards, hoping they might tell her where Seungcheol had gone, but they stood firm and silent as stone, refusing to utter a word.

Each passing day felt like a waking nightmare, her thoughts growing darker as the isolation wore on.

She considered escaping—she'd tried countless times before, yet each attempt only ended with her more wounded and traumatized.

So she stayed, drifting through the days, her appetite fading until the maids noticed her significant weight loss.

Not wanting to offend them, each night she took the untouched plates of food behind the mansion, where she had discovered a stray dog with her puppies.

Caring for them became her only solace in the darkness.

She built them a little nest, bringing food and water, and even gave each puppy a name.
