The sirens of Tartarus threatened to shake the earth. His hands gripped his face, back pressed against the trunk of a thick tree. Body sliding down as One for All's corrupting red flowed over his body in erratic arcs. The glare seen between the gaps of his fingers failed to falter as he stripped the Tartarus uniform off his body. He replaced his attire with his armor once again, helmet slipping over his face.
Now that his hand was shown.
There was no more need for cautiousness.
No need for silence.
Everything would end soon.
.
They sat there, rooted in place for nearly an hour. Updates on the situation were coming rapidly, almost alarming so. The entire news station was enthralled in a panic even recognizable behind the screen. Not a single person could move, even Eri, Midnight, they sat rooted in place their eyes fixed on the screen.
The young girl wept silently and Midnight held a sharp, saddened glare.
Not a single class member of U.A comforted the panicking Bakugou. The ash-blond haired boy clutching at his chest. Lungs nearly exploding from his chest.
Memories were filled with Izuku Midoriya's smile, his kind eyes, his strength.
"Reports are just coming in from Tartarus Prison..." Even the news caster's stare faltered, hands shaking as she read the teleprompter hidden from view. "There has been confirmation of four deaths within prison walls. Kaina Tsutsumi, ex-pro hero Lady Nagant, has been confirmed dead. Goto Imasuji, the villain Muscular, confirmed dead. Kai Chisaki, former villain Overhaul, confirmed dead..."
Those who were aware. The few students who had been part of the operation responsible for saving Eri turned. It had long been common knowledge about what Overhaul did to Eri. Carving her flesh repeatedly before haphazardly using his own quirk to disassemble her wounds and reconfigured them in some twisted goal of ridding the world of quirks.
No one would weep for the man's death.
This however...
"Papa..." Eri's small quiet voice leaked from her mouth. Watching the news as Izuku's face was plastered for all to see. The most recent and clearest photo being that of him smiling. It betrayed the words of reporters. They called him a bad man... but her Papa was stopping them. Even she knew as much.
Overhaul was gone.
"The last victim as of now is unidentified but has been confirmed dead."
The report ended, but the noise of the auditorium did not die. Nezu's phone ringing constantly in his pocket. The animal digging into his suit placed the phone against his ear as he answered. Not a single person, not even Jiro could hear what the erratic voices on the other line were saying. Nezu himself could not say a word.
Both staff and students could see the principal's hair stand on end, body going rigid, while his free paw trembled slightly. The call ended abruptly. Sliding the phone into his pocket Nezu's gaze swept across the classes before the projection screen shut off. "I understand that this is a lot to take in. As you've heard, Izuku Midoriya is not dead. More than that he is the vigilante Red Hood. He is now a criminal, not your classmate, nor a hero-in-training." Nezu paused before looking to the U.A staff. "Please return to your dormitories. From this moment onward, U.A is on full lockdown. No one leaves or enters without my explicit say-so. We need to hold a conference now." His last line gave no room for debate, whatever the call had said, was of importance so extreme that it could not wait.
