Part 4

Saturday

"Ma, Ma." Messiah said shaking Beyoncé said. "Mama, wake up!"

"What boy!" Beyoncé yelled.

"Come on, I got practice." He said.

Beyoncé peeked out of her covers and looked over at him.

"Smile." He said and take a picture.

"If you post that I swear to god-"

"If you make me late I will. Come on ma."

"Alright, alright, I'm coming." She said sitting up.

Messiah left out and Beyoncé went to get ready. Messiah went to fix some cereal and to wait. As he finished Beyoncé came down and got her mom's keys from the counter.

"Okay, let's go." She said.

They walked outside.

"I think I'm gonna go buy a car."

"Oh, let me come with you!" Messiah yelled.

"What you yelling for I'm right here." Beyoncé said backing out the drive way. "Plus you got practice."

"Go afterwards please? Plus you need a man so they won't get you a bad car." He said.

"And you that man?" Beyoncé asked laughing. "You can't even stay outside after the street lights come on."

"I'm just saying." He said shrugging.

Beyoncé arrived at the church and they got out. They walked in and Shawn was playing around on the piano.

"Hey Shawn!" Messiah yelled.

"Boy, don't yell in here." Beyoncé said.

"Ain't nobody in here." He said shrugging walking towards Shawn.

Shawn just laughed at them. Beyoncé sat down in the front pew.

"Hey Shawn." Beyoncé said.

"Hey Bey." He said smiling.

"What we playing today?" Messiah asked.

"Tye Tribbit "Victory"" Shawn said.

"Cool."

Beyoncé watched as  Messiah got in place.

"You ready?" Shawn said as he got behind the keyboard.

"Yeah."

Beyoncé watched as her son played the drums. He was focused and serious about what he was doing. She knew he loved the drums the first time she came to his practice. Beyoncé then began to look at Shawn play and then he looked towards her and smiled. Beyoncé hoped Shawn couldn't tell she was blushing.

When Messiah was finished his practice Beyoncé stood up and held her phone.

"Aye Shawn, my mama tryna get a car can you go with us?" Messiah asked.

"How you gonna just invite people?" Beyoncé asked.

Messiah shrugged.

"Yeah, I'm not gonna intrude." Shawn said.

"Please, you not intruding." Messiah said. "She ain't nobody."

Beyoncé mushed his head and then looked at Shawn.

"You can come if you want I just have to pick up someone at the airport first." Beyoncé said.

"Okay, I'm free today. How about I meet you at the dealership." Shawn said.

"Aight, I'll text you and let you know which one."

"Aight." She said.

"How you already got his number?" Messiah asked.

"Mind your business little boy." Beyoncé said.

"Okay, so I'll see y'all in a few." Shawn said packing up his keyboard.

"Okay, come on Messiah." Beyoncé said and they began to walk out the church.

They got in the car and buckled up and drove off.

"So uhm, how you already have his number?" Messiah asked looking over at his mother.

"I already told you to mind your business." She said.

"Okay then." He said.

They let the radio play while Beyoncé drove.

"You like Shawn?" Messiah asked smiling.

"Messiah-"

"You do. You do." He said laughing.

"Shut up."

"Beyoncé and Shawn sitting in a tree-"

"Messiah, I swear to god." Beyoncé said getting annoyed more and more.

"Okay, okay." He said laughing.

Beyoncé drove the rest of the way to the airport with the radio on and Messiah singing every now and then.

Beyoncé pulled up as she called Nicki.

"You outside?" Beyoncé asked looking. "What gate?"

"U.S Air." Nicki said.

"Where the hell is that?" Beyoncé asked. "Messiah, sit back I can't see."

"I'm tryna see too." He said. "Look, that her?"

Beyoncé looked and Nicki was standing there with her suitcase.

"Okay, I see you." Beyoncé said and hung up.

Beyoncé pulled up and got out along with Messiah. Beyoncé hugged Nicki as Messiah grabbed Nicki's bag and put it in the trunk.

"Oh you have a little gentleman." Nicki said.

"He think you cute girl." Beyoncé said. "He got a crush on you."

"Ma!!!" Messiah yelled closing the trunk. "Why you tell her that? She know you like Shawn?"

"Who's Shawn?" Nicki asked looking at Beyoncé.

"Get in the car Messiah." Beyoncé said.

They all got in the car.

"Who's Shawn?" Nicki asked.

"You'll find out in a minuet." Beyoncé said. "Messiah, text Shawn and tell him to meet me at the Kia dealership."

"A Kia? You don't want a Bugatti?" He asked.

"Do you have Bugatti money?" She asked.

"You the professional singer."

"And you're the amature so text Shawn to meet us at the Kia dealership." Beyoncé said then glanced at Nicki. "How was your flight?"

"Good, but I can't wait to meet this Shawn." She said.

"Chill, it's not even like that." She said.

"Oh really. Messiah, who's Shawn?"

"My drum teacher and gym teacher and piano player." He said.

"Okay."

"Chill Nic, we just friends."

"If you say so. Me and Messiah know what's good."

"Yeah, Beyoncé and Shawn sitting in a tree-"

"Messiah, don't let Nicki get you kicked out the car."

They laughed as Beyoncé continued driving.

They drove up to the dealership and they got out.

"Messiah, don't touch anything." Beyoncé said.

"You acting like I'm three." He said as his arm hit the sign advertising the car prices and it fell over.

Beyoncé and Nicki looked back at him.

"Didn't I just tell you."

"It was an accident."

"Pick it up." Beyoncé said.

He went to pick up the sign and put it back and then jogged over to his mother.

"Stay close." Beyoncé said and they went in.

They spotted Shawn when they walked in.

"Hey, I hope you weren't waiting long." Beyoncé said.

"No, just got here for real." He said.

"Well Nicki, this is Shawn. Shawn this is Nicki."

"Nice to meet you." Shawn said shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you too." She replied.

"Okay, you know what you looking for?" Shawn asked Beyoncé.

"Get the one Lebron was in Ma. Remember the commercial when we was watching the game." Messiah said.

"Yeah," Beyoncé said. "I gotta see it in person though."

"Good afternoon Ms. Knowles." One of the dealers said coming up to Beyoncé.

"Good afternoon." She said shaking his hand.

He greeted everyone else as well.

"Looking for anything special?" He asked.

"The one Lebron be in." Messiah said.

"Oh that's our K900." He said. "Would you like to see it?"

"Sure." Beyoncé said.

The guy led the way outside with Nicki and Messiah walking ahead.

"So, with you getting your own car down here are you planning on staying longer?" Shawn asked.

"Maybe." She said glancing at him. "I don't want to take Messiah back to L.A. It's stable down here for him."

"So you gonna move here?"

Beyoncé smiled.

"You ask a lot of questions." She said smiling.

"I'm just concerned for my friend. Cause if you move down here you gotta go apartment hunting and stuff." He said.

Beyoncé laughed.

"Okay, friend."

"Don't act like you don't like being my friend. You love my joke of the day text."

"Uhm-"

"So you just send those laughing emoji's?"

"No," she said laughing. "I can't lie there funny."

"Shit, I know they funny." He said which made Beyoncé laugh more.

"Uh, could y'all speed up!" Messiah yelled. "It's hot out here!"

"That's your son." Shawn said.

"Yep, he is."

"Actually, I've noticed. You two are very a like." Shawn said as they walked to the car.

"Nah, he's, he's,-"

"You, yeah I know." He said.

Beyoncé just straight faced him. The guy started showing Beyoncé the car and all the amenities. She liked it and decided to buy it but wanted to make certain changes. The guy told her it would take a few days so she agreed.

"Ma, I'm hungry."

"Me too Bey." Nicki said.

"Where you wanna go?" Beyoncé asked.

"Unless you gonna call Julius some where no one knows you." Messiah said.

"Well that's gonna be hard." Nicki said.

"Baby, it don't matter. Where you wanna go?" Beyoncé said looking at Messiah.

"We gonna go?"

"We gonna go home and stay there if you don't tell me."

"Dave n Busters." He said.

"Okay, but we'll go later okay?"

He nodded and got in the car. Nicki was looking at Beyoncé and nodded towards Shawn by his car. Beyoncé laughed.

"I'll be right back." She said passing Nicki the keys.

Beyoncé walked towards Shawn's car.

"Hey, thanks for coming. I know you didn't have to."

"No, it's cool." He said.

"Well we're going to Dave n Busters tonight and I wanted to know if you'd like to come."

"Yeah, sure. The one on Richmond?"

"Yeah that one. I think I have to call my bodyguard though."

"Nah, you'll be good. I got you." Shawn said.

Beyoncé looked at him.

"You got me huh?"

"Yeah, I'll prove it to you. I'll see you tonight." Shawn said hugging her.

Beyoncé hugged him and inhaled his polo cologne and then let go.

"Okay, tonight." Beyoncé said and then walked back to her car.

Beyoncé couldn't stop smiling but tried when she got in the car. She looked over at Nicki and she was smiling.

"Shut up Nic." Beyoncé said starting up the car.

"You like him." Nicki sung.

"So." Beyoncé laughed.

They drove towards the house and got out with Messiah getting Nicki's bag. They walked in the house and into the kitchen.

"Hey mama." Beyoncé said seeing her mother.

"Hey."

"Mama, this is Nicki, Nicki this is my mama."

"Nice to meet you Ms. Knowles."

"Oh no we hug around here." Ms. Tina said hugging her.

"Grandma, can you make me a sandwich?" Messiah asked.

"No, but your mama can or you can do it yourself." She said smiling.

"Oh mama, we going to Dave n Busters tonight for dinner." Beyoncé said.

"We who?"

"Well us and uhm Shawn."

"Oh Shawn." Ms. Tina said smiling.

Beyoncé shook her head.

"Yeah, could you call Kelly and'em?"

"Yeah, I'll do that." She said hiding a smile.

"Messiah, can you make your mama and Nicki a sandwich before we die?" Beyoncé asked.

"I gotta make three sandwiches now?"

"I'll give you extra tokens tonight." Beyoncé said.

"Done deal." He said and started making sandwiches.

After they ate their sandwiches Beyoncé showed Nicki to the guest room and then went to the room she was staying in. Beyoncé changed into shorts and tank and laid down to take a nap. Her phone buzzed and she groaned. She saw it was a text from Shawn.

"FaceTime real quick."

"I'm not face time ready."

"So what."

Beyoncé sighed and face timed him while she was laying down.

He answered.

"Damn." He said laughing.

Beyoncé straight faced him.

"What you want? I was going to sleep."

"Oh nothing, just wanted to see you." He said.

"You just saw me an hour ago or so."

"So, still wanted to see you again."

Beyoncé sighed.

"What are you doing?"

"Watching sports center." He said and showed her.

"Oh, that's your room?"

"Yeah,"

"Looks nice."

"Thanks." He said. "Okay, you can go to sleep now."

"Now I'm up." She said. "I'm not sleepy no more."

"Okay, so let's get to know each other."

"What you wanna know?" Beyoncé asked.

"It don't matter, whatever you want to tell me."

Shawn and Beyoncé stayed on FaceTime the entire afternoon getting to know each other better. Especially about their pasts. They've both made mistakes but are trying to become better people. Shawn told Beyoncé he was originally from New York and sold drugs but got locked up and changed his life. Beyoncé told him about her past drug issues and emotional issues and things with her son. They started to understand each other better.

"Mama! What time we leaving?" Messiah yelled walking into the room.

"Why you just busting through the door yelling? Where are your manners?" Beyoncé asked.

"I don't know. When we leaving?"

"What time is it now?"

"5:00."

Beyoncé looked down at her phone and saw Shawn eating some chips.

"Shawn, I gotta get ready. I'll see you at Dave n Busters."

"Aight."

"Shawn? Shawn who?" Messiah looking in the screen. "Oh hey Shawn, you know my mama like you?"

"Messiah, get out!" Beyoncé said.

He just laughed and so did Shawn. Messiah had a hardy laugh laying on the bed. Beyoncé sat frustrated.

"Are y'all done?" Beyoncé asked looking at her son and phone.

Shawn was done but Messiah wouldn't shut up.

"Where my belt?"

"Okay, okay." Messiah said and left out.

"You was not gonna whoop him for that." Shawn said.

"No but he finally got out." She said. "I'll see you soon."

"Alright, later." He said and they hung up.

Beyoncé finally went to get dressed. After Beyoncé got dressed they all got in the car and Ms. Tina drove.

"Grandma, mama bought a car." Messiah said.

"You did?" Ms. Tina said glancing at Beyoncé.

"I mean yeah, I can't keep borrowing your car." She said.

Ms. Tina nodded and they rode all the way to Dave n Busters. Everyone met in the parking lot.

"There go Shawn." Messiah said.

Shawn walked up to them.

"You think you should've called Julius?" Nicki asked.

"Nah, I'm here." Messiah said looking up at his mom.

"Yeah, you are. You gonna protect me?" Beyoncé said.

"Yeah, I got you." He said.

Shawn walked up and he stood near Beyoncé as they walked up. Of course it was a lot of people. As soon as they walked in phones came flying out but the people respected her space.

"I called ahead and got a private room." Nicki whispered.

"Thanks." Beyoncé said.

Nicki went and talked to the host and walked them through the place to get to the private area.

"Can I play some games now?" Messiah asked looking around as they walked.

"After dinner then you can play all you want." Beyoncé said.

They finally got to the area and were seated.

Everyone enjoyed their dinner together.

"Can we go play now?" Messiah asked.

"Can I finish my food?" Beyoncé asked.

Messiah sat back and sighed.

"I'll take him." Shawn said.

Messiah smiled and stood up. Beyoncé went in her purse and gave him a fifty.

"Thanks." He said and followed Shawn.

Tim, Kelly's husband, took their son Titan and went with them. Beyoncé picked up her fork to continue eating. When she looked up everyone was looking at her.

"What?"

"We didn't know Shawn was coming." Michelle said.

Beyoncé hid her smile and shrugged.

"I mean, I invited him earlier."

"Earlier, what y'all do earlier?" Kelly asked.

Beyoncé sighed.

"Look, yes we like each other okay. That's it. We cool. We chillin."

"What the fuck does that mean?" Kelly asked. "Sorry, mama."

Ms. Tina shook her head.

"It means we're getting to know each other." Beyoncé said.

"So you gonna go out with him?" Michelle asked.

"He asked you out?" Nicki asked.

Beyoncé put her fork down.

"I'm not ready okay." Beyoncé said. "I'm just trying to have a mother son relationship with my son instead of the lady that comes when its his birthday. I'm trying to figure out how to be a mom and I'm already twelve years late. So right now my focus is not on Shawn just my son. Okay, cool? Great."

Beyoncé went back to eating her food.

"So probably in like four months." Michelle said joking.

Beyoncé sat her fork down and stood up.

"I'm gonna go find my child." Beyoncé said leaving.

"And your future baby daddy." Nicki said and they laughed.

"Mama, this isn't for you." Beyoncé said before she flicked the girls off and went to find her son.

Beyoncé found them by the racing game.

"Hey." Beyoncé said.

"Hey ma." Messiah said smiling.

He and Shawn were playing and were about finished. Tim stood near watching holding Titan. Beyoncé watched as Titan looked so fascinated by all the lights and laughed.

"Yes!" Messiah yelled when he beat Shawn.

"Aight, lil man." Shawn said getting up.

Messiah gave Beyoncé his ticket bucket. It was basically full. Messiah dragged Beyoncé to all the different games. Soon the girls came and everyone started to playing different games.

By the end of the night Messiah cashed out with prizes and they all left.

Beyoncé went by Shawn's car.

"I'm glad you invited me." Shawn said.

"No problem. I had fun." She said.

"So did I." He said. "So I'll see you at church tomorrow."

"Yeah, I'll be there." She said smiling.

Shawn hugged her and then let go.

"Text me when you get home." He said.

"Alright." She said and walked back to the car and got in.

Ms. Tina drove home while Beyoncé just looked outside the window watching the trees go by and looking up towards the sky.

"Beyonce and Shawn sitting in a tree." Messiah sung laughing and Beyonce rolled her eyes.
